Coming Off Invega Sustenna (Page 5)

Updated

Hi,

I was given Invega Sustenna at 100mg a month for 10 months since Dec 5th. My last shot was on August 29th 2013.

The medication gave me severe anhedonia and I have lost the motivation and willpower to do anything. I can no longer experience joy, happiness, or pleasure from anything I do and I have no interest in doing anything. I constantly feel restless and uneasy and I just can't shake this feeling away no matter what. All of these started about a week after my first IV.

I have been off this medication for almost 3 months now and I have yet to feel any improvements. I have read that it has a long half life of 25-49 days and that it can stay in your body for 300 days. So does that mean I will have to wait a year to start feeling better?

Any info on someone who has been off this med would be greatly appreiciated. I am interested to learn how many months it takes to feel better after invega sustenna.

Thank you

Hi John,

I want this nightmare to be over with. What a nightmare I'd rather of served jail time than be treated with these meds. This has gotta be the worst thing ever. Not to feel anything or be anything has gotta be the worst feeling ever. I never did anything wrong except get paranoid that someone had hacked into my Facebook....which happened. Then they medicate me with this stuff!!! So it will take me a whole year to come right? That's just s***. I gained 8kg and wanna come right. I love the far north and I spent a lot of time in Ahipara. I wish the north could save me now.

I just been sending my nurse numerous texts to fix this problem....I need medication to a)lower my prolactin cabergoline
B) level out my dopamine. A stimulant
C) anti depressant wellburtin that also assists in weight loss
All this and more I need to move on with my life and they WONT prescribe. Cause there mean and nasty. They won't prescribe me a thing for it all.

Hi John

Like my doctor they want us to heal "naturally" ok for them to dish it out but not ok for them to "fix" it. I so hate doctors this has gotta be the worst drug with the worst side effects. I so wanna slaughter the mental health nz for doing this to me. I wanna fix and medication for my dopamine levels. And a fix for my high prolactin. This has to be the worst time of my life not having a fix for the side effects when there is clearly medication that can help.

Hey John. Modafinil sounds amazing. Just what I need, a stimulant! It sounds incredible to have one magic pill! Why won't they prescribe it to us?

Might as well get some crack to get the dopamine working again! If they won't give it legally might as well illegally do it

DOPAMINE is important for your feel-good factor. I don't have any dopamine left with this drug. Just pure evil this is. How can they get away with it? How can they get away with forcing a drug onto someone who was simply paranoid over her Facebook being hacked? Not schizophrenia just paranoid over a reasonable suspicion... They are just evil for administrating this drug. Now I have no dopamine, have put on weight and have no feelings anymore. Just pure evil.

Hi Carly they won't give us modanafil because it might make us feel better I don't know but the flat depression this drug gives you Is terrible just hoping we get well soon it seems to me mental heath nz have made us sicker than before being on this poison

John
I'll say it sure does feel that way I feel sicker now than before this poison. Mental Health NZ must want us to be sick. I am worse than ever. Might as well say goodbye to my great figure pre getting sick...I can't move this weight of 8kg off me. I need to move this weight badly but the hormone dysfunction is in the way. Prolactin levels are high and it clings onto fat for dear life. If only they could give me something for my prolactin and dopamine levels...life would be better. I can't see why not....I reckon it's a ploy to keep us in the system.

Hey John
I had a few drinks tonight and not one bit did I feel tipsy. I can't get drunk! I can't have a few and it go to my head anymore. It's weird. I had three drinks and still no effect. This has to be the weirdest feeling. No effect whatsoever.....

Invega Sustenna has been my demon, I can't function on it. The world has fallen apart on these injections...It's killed my soul. Can't get a libido, can't get drunk, can't lose weight. I can't do much on this injection. Trying to lose weight is the hardest....it won't let me. The injection has played with my hormones that much. This is not fair, I'd rather have cancer than have this silent killer of a drug. Socially it has ruined me...I have no feelings and can't even cry. Dopamine is what it kills.

Hi guys,

I stopped taking Invega/Xeplion in March and I recently finished with psychiatrists. They can do no more for me as I now need to come to terms with what made me ill in the first place. Basically my parents made me ill, I recently decided to cut off all contact with family, need to think of my own life and it's miserable state today.
All my life I was abusing myself with tobacco and alcohol, coffee and tea. Had to quit them Friday and I've been in bed since with a crazy heartbeat, pains and cold sweats. I live alone and get a disability payment so my obligations are few today. Got to ride this out for maybe some months to come, I dont care how long it takes, the noise of traffic etc lets me start to come to terms with stuff. I got almost no energy here.

Im totally worth this

A year to get any better that's a long time. 300 days for it to be out of your system. I don't think I can wait that long....May was my last shot so it's been three months for me and that was one shot too many. I should of refused the shots. I should of refused the shots from the start I'd rather of been locked up then have those shots of poison. The problem with mental health nz is that they think one size fits all and it wasn't the case with me. I don't think anyone can save me now I'm just deteriorating into nothingness.

Hi Carly,

I still got a way to go. Was on other major tranquilizers for over 13 years before Invega/Xeplion, was using cigs and booze for many years before I ever got ill. I didnt use street drugs for some time now. We are all different. Im a guy 35 yrs.

I dont really speak to people much, got very bitter in the end towards a society which locked me up and drugged me because of trauma from my father. But its not their fault. I was a bit like a robot recently, needed tobacco and booze every time i had money. I'm looking forward to having sense of taste and smell. I think tobacco stole my libido before i hit puberty. I dont know what my prolactin is like today, if i had it checked that was many years ago. I am a bit overweight, not extremely. Was drinking up to 20 beers each day. Still flushing gut, dont need intense exercise, used to walk a lot, may start yoga later but still in bed with my head like chaos. I know it's gonna settle down so long as i dont take any more poison.

Hi loftus
Invega Sustenna is poison and should never be used on anyone. It's death of feelings and death of anything.

Carly,

Youre right, it is nasty stuff. I cannot quit tobacco today. I can afford to get drunk tomorrow but got to avoid that.

I believe in hope.

Big up yourself!!!

Loftus
I can't even get drunk it doesn't go to my head anymore. The poison has numbed me that much. I tried a bottle of wine and nothing...no tipsy feeling no nothing. My dopamine levels have been killed off I have no feelings left at all. Not even an inch of feeling tipsy. I say we do street drugs then our dopamine might come back. Just saying...if they won't fix it with meds might as well fix it ourselves.

Carly,

Me, i guess i could handle a joint but it's expensive and illegal here etc. Cannabis triggered my psychosis but i got a lot of insight into myself since then. Seems pointless to use something else to fill same empty feeling.

Please be very careful with street drugs and booze etc.

Hope and patience but mostly i hope we never take that poison shot again : )
