Coming Off Invega Sustenna (Page 14)

Updated

Hi,

I was given Invega Sustenna at 100mg a month for 10 months since Dec 5th. My last shot was on August 29th 2013.

The medication gave me severe anhedonia and I have lost the motivation and willpower to do anything. I can no longer experience joy, happiness, or pleasure from anything I do and I have no interest in doing anything. I constantly feel restless and uneasy and I just can't shake this feeling away no matter what. All of these started about a week after my first IV.

I have been off this medication for almost 3 months now and I have yet to feel any improvements. I have read that it has a long half life of 25-49 days and that it can stay in your body for 300 days. So does that mean I will have to wait a year to start feeling better?

Any info on someone who has been off this med would be greatly appreiciated. I am interested to learn how many months it takes to feel better after invega sustenna.

Thank you

Good morning just wanted to let you know that I looked into b-6, excellent stuff for the brain functions. It helps several neurotransmitters of chemicals that carries signals from one cell to the next. Good for brain development and functions. Helps the brain to make hormone serotonin and norepinephrine which influences mood and melatonin which helps regulate our clock in our brain. 1.3 mg of b-6 they say is plenty for anyone under 50 yrs of age. Anyway ill be getting some for my daughter. Just a little info.

Morning lovely, thanks for the suggestions. I will buy b6 and will take it. Today I laughed the hardest for the first time after almost a year joking with my mum, been a little bit playful. Things will change, I’m keeping my fingers crossed and will also start taking the supplements. I will be recovered coming summer and I will help you with your situation. Thank you for recommending b6. How’s your daughter? Maybe have her watch her favorite tv series or movies. I’m watching Twilight, and we are having a snow storm... beautiful day.

I have been off invega sustenna for over 2 years and have yet to feel better but every day is a struggle to find a reason to live. The only thing that really keeps me going is the thought of killing the ppl who made it and that still doesn't motivate me to get out of bed in the morning. Every day is a meaningless hell and u will likely never get better.

I feel the same way as you. This drug and its effects can make me feel hopeless at times. I've been off it for 7 months and it's torture.

I’m almost 10 months off, no improvement. This is poison, injustice. That’s no way to treat people with the drugs.

Sunny, how is your memory? Can you function?

Has anyone come off invega and fully recovered and how long did it take you

Re: Johnny (# 268) Expand Referenced Message

I’m reading a lot of people saying even after 2 years no improvement, do people recover from this. My life is over at only 31 years old. I'm finished.

I’ve posted in here recently about my recovery process. I’ve received 8 injections and I have been off the medicine for almost 9 months now. Mentally my IQ and memory is not as good as it used to be, however my brain chemistry is good right now. I feel like I’m in a good place to where I was a couple of months ago feeling hopeless and sad maybe like 2 months ago. I’ve been longtime supplementing St Johns Wort, 5 HTP, and B vitamins which at first didn’t seem to be doing much until recently. I don’t know if it is because of the supplements or because of time elapsed off of this poison. Mentally I feel fine, not myself yet but fine motivated even. I can hold down a part time job waking up at 4 am 5 days a week working for 5 hours. The symptoms I suffered from were weight gain, emotionlessness, gynecomastia, heart arrhythmia, pretty much all of them.

I still suffer from heart arrhythmia as I cannot run more than a mile yet but what I read from this and bluelight.com (check it out coming off invega v.1 and v.2) that it will go away in a year and gyno is also supposed to go away with exercise.

I recommend anyone reading this to pursue a part time job and an active lifestyle of working out and stuff, not heavily cardio based (unless ur heart can do sports then by all means do it) and do everything u can to pump endorphins into ur body. The poison has binded itself to your receptors and you might need to do stuff to unbind them. I consume marijuana occasionally and when I got high I noticed almost significant improvements during and a little bit after smoking just like pre invega.

Do not give up hope even if ur 2 years off. Make lifestyle changes that would pump endorphins in ur head. The mood will change as long as ur beyond 6 months (you may be extremely weak before this time and your body might “give up” on you) but these meds don’t last forever I’ve read countless recovery’s stories from this. Your mind is a very powerful thing so make sure u put positive thoughts into it at this point and do all you can to help yourself. {edited for privacy}.

Re: Sandh (# 259) Expand Referenced Message

Where do you purchase your cogni-Q and is there a particular brand that works well for you? The cheapest one I found at Walmart was $10 on up to $30... and how long before you started noticing your memory coming back?

Re: concerned parent (# 272) Expand Referenced Message

It’s a super b complex by spring valley and 5 htp by itself too. Remember magnesium and selenium for heart too. You’re kid will be fine it just takes a while to get out of your system for me it will take longer but I plan just working jobs until it’s out of my system

Re: Sandh (# 269) Expand Referenced Message

come on guys were all struggling here yes it may be a lengthy process but during this long await we might as well try something that may help us out cause i don't think things can get any worse. Ive seen lots of good advice and story on here shared and we all seem to be dealing with something similar challenges just at different extents but its not over until we stop trying so whatever you do don"t give up no matter how bad things may get or what someone may tell you and you always always ask god to give you the strength to endure and help you out you just have to have a little faith and know that its gonna get better and stay positive no matter what and don't forget god is your friend and he unlike man can make all things possible if you just believe
