Coming Off Fentanyl 25mg. Oxyneo 10 Mg. Withdrawl Concerns

I have been on Fentanyl for a long time. 3 weeks ago I kept a patch on for over a week without changing it and then took it off a day before going to the doctor. I had sweating, nausea, pain but I tolerated it. My doctor was upset that I did it but I was so desperate to come off of it, I would try anything. She put me on 12 mg patches for 2 weeks and then I was to go onto something else. I was having a horrible time with the low dose patch and put on a 25 mg 2 days before seeing my doctor. She has given me a prescription for Oxyneo 10mg to be taken twice a day. I'm wondering if I should keep the patch on for a week and during this time start the Oxy. Anyone had a similar experience? Can anyone tell me what their experience with Oxyneo has been?

Hi Ritzi,

Sorry to hear about your experience with the Fentanyl patches.

Regarding Oxyneo, there aren't any drug interactions listed between it and Fentanyl; so you should be fine as far as that goes, if you still intend on starting it early on in your transition from the patches.

Unfortunately I can't speak from personal experience on the matter. But due to the sensitive nature of your question, I would always suggest consulting a qualified doctor first; if not but to reassure your own safety.

I hope this helps!
