Put on half a .1mg Clonidine to take only once a day and was only taking it for less than 6 days. I forgot to take it and want off the pill. I also take 2.5 Corlanor at night and .5mg Lorazapam as needed. I am so scared and terrified of withdrawal. I was put on med for my Hyper POTS disorder. Will I be ok? So far my blood pressure has been good but I am feeling a lot of anxiety and heart palpitations. ## Hello, Katt! How are you doing? Has there been any change? There shouldn't be any issues after taking it for only 6 days, in theory, but everyone is different. The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including insomnia, nervousness, palpitations, anxiety, and elevated blood pressure. The best thing to do would be to consult your doctor, so they can check things out ...

I cant relax so would it be safe to take one more clonidine they are 0.1mg help me asap sence I cnnot sleep with this twitching ## Hello, Tiff! How are you? No, this is a very potent medication and you shouldn't take more than your doctor has prescribed. It may take a few weeks for this medication to reach its full level of efficacy in your body and for it to alleviate all your symptoms. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## In some cases yes but for me the more I took the worse it got that is a very bad drug it causes all sorts of side effects from anyone I've known to take it higher then 0.3 Mg's dont ...

Many years on and off I have tested positive for benzos and am labeled forever a drug addict even though anything I've taken has always been prescribed, clonidine, seroquel, olanzapine cymbalta, trazodone, and norcos are all I've ever taken and just recently clonazepam which does not show up in tests. A friend of mine had been clean and sober for six years recently failed a drug test for benzos and all he had taken is clonidine. I don't drink or do drugs. Norcos, benadryl and clonazepam are all I've taken in 3 years and the benzos are not showing up now. Could anyone else have had this happen? With this drug only during the times I've taken it I came up positive. I tossed the drug.

it is round and white with the words mylan and125 written on it ## Is it possibly Mylan 152? If so then this tablet contains the active ingredient Clonidine, though I am not sure of the exact dosage, it is used to treat high blood pressure. Common side effects may include; nausea, drowsiness, headache and dizziness. Read more: Could this be your tablet? ## It is used for high blood pressure, but also helps in witthdrawals of opiates...i dont recommend taking more then 2 at a time cause it is for high blood pressure so if ur takingv it for withdrawals for opiates u most likey have a low blood pressure which most opiate addicts tend to have, take too many and u could lower it to the point of death, it doesnt help like methadone but it could take the edge of depending how big your habit is...

Hi i was wondering if i took 2 0.1 mg of clonidine would it hurt me i just got prescribed them help me sleep and they did not make me sleepy so i took one more is that bad ## Hi Kerri, According to NIH, Clonidine is available in three dosage strengths (0.1 mg, 0.2 mg and 0.3 mg). So it's certainly not unheard of to take 0.2mg. The following excerpt on 'Clonidine's maintenance dosing' was quoted from NIH's webpage: "Further increments of 0.1 mg per day may be made at weekly intervals if necessary until the desired response is achieved. Taking the larger portion of the oral daily dose at bedtime may minimize transient adjustment effects of dry mouth and drowsiness. The therapeutic doses most commonly employed have ranged from 0.2 mg to 0.6 mg per day given in divid...

I have Post Partem anxiety and have been going to Minnie Jones for several months to see Dr.Ambrose in an attempt to avoid medications. It's not working. The last time I was on any medication that worked for me it was a coupling of Clonidine (Kapvay) and Diazepam as PRN for anxiety attacks. To make a long story short, I was able to completely stop needing medications for a long time. The program that I was in which originally prescribed these medications was shut down for abuse several years ago, and all of their records were destroyed in an "accidental" fire. They continued to prescribe my meds long distance for years before this happened. What I am saying is, I need a doctor who is willing to go with my suggestions as this is my body, but also who will not push me to try new

Hi, my 10yo son has ADHD, and he takes 60mg of Ritalin during the day. Having trouble falling asleep, 8monyhs ago we started giving him Clonidine 1 1/2 × 0.1mg at night to sleep. However he hates it, and takes forever to wake up in the morning and now we want to stop. I am only now wondering the dangers of this medication long term on a 10yo, considering what it does to BP and everything else...and my son will need this for the next 10 to 50 years! I would like to give him something else instead, but don't know what to give and how to proceed with swapping. Please help us!

My son is on a clonidine patch. He sweats a lot and i cant get the patch to stay on. How can i make it stay on? ## Hello, Shella! How are you and your son? It might be better to ask his doctor about switching to the pills, so this will no longer be an issue. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and hypotension. Alternatively, you can ask the doctor or pharmacist if they have any ideas as to what might help.

My dr prescribed this pill and told me it's a sleeping pill to help me sleep better and relax but looking it up doesn't say anything about being a sleeping pill. So I'm just confused as to what it could be? ## Is the marking on it P 127 or R 127? A tablet with R 127 on it is manufactured by Actavis and they list it as containing 0.1mg of Clonidine which has many medical uses, including treating high blood pressure, anxiety, ADHD, and sleep disorders. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and headache. Have you tried taking it, yet?

I gave my mom 2 clonidine 0.1 mg and she is only supposed to have one every 8 hours. Will she be OK or do I need her to get her to the hospital? ## Hi Marilyn, Sorry to hear about your situation. I realize you posted this back on November 26th and today is December 11th. How is your mom doing now? My assumption is that she may have been fine after the Clonidine wore off - but I do think it's always a good idea to either contact the prescribing doctor, a pharmacist, and/or poison control in the event of an overdose; even if it's acute. These medical personnel could offer recommendations to help mitigate any possible symptoms associated with taking too much. And this might sound corny, but since Clonidine lowers blood pressure, I would imagine that finding ways to keep her heart r...

I have been having heart palpitations on an off since I started cloindine 1 mg. Should I quit? ## How long have you been taking it and how long do the palpitations last? The FDA does list palpitations as being a possible side effect of this medication and they may continue for 4 to 6 weeks, while your body is adjusting to the medication. In most case, palpitations are harmless, unless they are accompanied by other symptoms, such as dizziness and chest pain, according to the NIH, or if they last for very long periods of time.... but, it never hurts to have your doctor check things out to be sure.

What all can it be used for other than blood pressure treatment? ## This is sometimes used for migraine headaches as well. ## Occasionally some types of after surgery discomfort from mild procedures, on top of what nenene already stated. I have also heard some people have been given it by their docs to help with withdrawal from other meds, but this is a total off label use, so I don't know much about it. ## My son uses it for his Tourettes. It helps with his tics, but makes him very tired. ## Withdrawal off klonopin which can be worse than opiates. I was in combat 25 years special unit. On and off klonopin and ativan 25 years. Trying oxycodone detox. Want to use clonidine for this. But i am on 25mg of metoporol succ and had heart bypass 3 years ago. Any thoughts on this? ## Hello, Richie! How are you? Taking them both tougher can lower your heart rate and blood pressure, which might be dangerous for some people, so they should only be taken together, if your doctor approves and is monitoring you regularly. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and dehydration. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for your reply...and you are correct I am on day 12 of oxycodne....and advice from a local pharmacy..I was told not to use the cloidine. I have cfs since 1987 and fibro since 1994 (adrenal fatigue is the true illness). Recently I notice I have low blood volume, my pulse is always rapid, I get maybe 2-3 hours of sleep in 24 hours, high blood pressure, as well as other symptoms. I read clonidine will specifically help with all these symptoms. I just started a .1 once a day rx. I was very hopeful about this drug helping me but I am reading so much about people having bad experiences. Is this an addictive drug? My doctor and pharmacist did not say it was an addictive drug. If you have taken this drug did you become addicted? I am worried now. Although, I have to admit, my life in the last several months hasn't been a life. No sleep, can't stand up for than a few minutes, dizzy when standing from laying down. Thanks f...

Was prescribed clonidine for hot flashes and night sweats. Has been very effective in stopping night sweats but instead of lowering my blood pressure my blood pressure has gone through the roof. Yesterday and today I have been getting blood pressure readings of like187/90 and 179/80. I do have high blood pressure but take meds for this and in usually about 140/80. The doctor was worried they're taking the clonidine might take the blood pressure too low but it has had the opposite effect Has anyone heard of this happening and have any idea why? I am not going to take anymore but I am dreading the return of the night sweats ## Hello, Barbara! How are you? I went back on it and visited Dr, who told me to stay back on it. My problem is that I am experiencing some bad headchesf or the past two weeks. They come out of nowhere. At times I feel normal and hen it starts. Usually I have one a day or every other day. Please tell me if this is normal .especially as I have been back o the Clonidine for the past 2 weeks. Will it get better? ## Headaches can be a normal side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, somnolence, and hypotension.
