Clonidine Side Effects After Many Yrs Of Usage

My daughter has been on clonidine for approx 10yrs...she is 17 now. Lately she has had several issues with extremely low bp that she has been hospitalized for...they now keep asking us if she is taking extra meds to cause this..we have her meds they are regulated very well and we only get 30 a month and the right amount is still in there...I'm wondering after all these years of taking it could she suddenly start having all these side effects. Even though her dosage hasn't changed...she takes .01 mgs at bedtime...to help with her bp and heart rate to sleep from her adhd...any input would be greatly appreciated

Yes, even if someone has taken a medication for a long period of time, without problems, it's always possible for issues to suddenly occur, because our bodies do change with time and low blood pressure happens frequently with this medication, as reported by the FDA.

She may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.

How is she doing? If you know she's not taking any extra medications, then this is most likely just do to a natural change in her body.

Has she been dehydrated, at all?
