Clonazepam Dosage Change
(Newest replies first)

I am taking a prescription of 2.5 mg/ml about four drops every 12 hrs. My new prescription went up to 0.5 mg. How much higher is this new dose in a pill?

whats higher dose 2.5mg or 0.5mg?
Ok time to do some fun math -
First, knowing that the dose from the drops was 2.5mg/ml and there were 10ml in the entire container, it is safe to say that the entire container was 25mg of Clonazepam.
Approximating that over one month (30 days), that's about 0.83mg of Clonazepam per day.
Now if you are taking 2 x 0.5 mg per day in tablet form you are taking a total of 1mg Clonazepam per day or about a 20% higher dose.
I hope that all of this makes sense. I made calculations assuming that you are taking the 0.5mg twice per day. If this is not correct please let me know...
there are 10ml in the entire drop container and i will be taking one or two pills (new prescription) depending on how i feel. my drops last almost a month taking 3 to 4 drops every 12hours.
Do you still have the old container for the drops? I need to know:
(1) How many mL or ounces of fluid were in the entire container? (it should hopefully say this on the bottle somewhere)
(2) About how long would a container last you for?
(3) How many 0.5mg tablets per day are you now prescribed to take?
If you don't have that information please let me know and I'll have to see if there is any other way to back into your answer...
hello again:
let me be more specific on my previous question. I am taking clonazepam in drops it shows on the label 2.5mg/ml and my new prescription for the same medication exept that now it will be on a pill dose maked 0.5mg my question is how high is this new dose from the drops, i am concerned due to my sensitiviness on medication.
please reply. thank you
Hi Rosie - So just to make sure I understand your question - You were taking 2.5mg/ml before, and now you're taking 0.5mg/ml? Or did you mean to say that you were taking 0.25mg/ml before?
Either way if you were to compare the numbers, 0.5mg/ml is twice the dosage of 0.25mg/ml, or 1/5th the dosage of 2.5mg/ml.
I hope this makes sense. Is this the information you were looking for?
