Clonazepam 0.5 Mg Teva Vs Accord (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Updated

I recently received Teva clonazepam and it worked great. Two weeks ago, I received clonazepam from Accord Pharmaceuticals and it was like a placebo pill. Has anyone taken this medicine By Accord and have you noticed a serious difference with it not helping? I've never had a generic never work before. I don't know what to do. All pharmacies in my area are now going with Accord Pharmaceuticals because it's cheaper. Help with an answer please.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 73) Expand Referenced Message

Have you found something that works other than Accord? I have been on the manufacturer for years. Can not take Teva or others. Accord only one that worked. I am in the US. I just saw Intas labs in India who makes accord got a warning letter from the fda and they have not cleared up their manufacturing issues to their satisfaction. I just switched to Klonopin non generic, and feel tired and depressed on it. I have done great on Accord. Now I fear it will be quite a while until Accord comes back.

I hope they do soon. What city did you find the accord brand in? I called around at the end of June, got 12 pills that lasted me 24 days, as I also cut in half. Now on Klonopin and hate it!

How long till you started feeling lousy on Klonopin? Took me about a week to know something was wrong. Been back on Accord for 4 days, somethings felt better right away, I'm sure it will take a while for everything to stabilize.

2 days and I was feeling worse. Knew I didn't feel quite right after the first day. Almost feels like I am in withdrawal. My prescriptions says take 1/2 to one. I am going to try taking a full tablet tonight. I have read that it may be how you metabolize the drug, as each company can use different ingredients to get the drug to uptake in your system. Apparently mine only likes whatever Accord uses. Maybe I am not getting enough uptake with the Klonopin. All I know is I feel terrible!

Re: Kone (# 81) Expand Referenced Message

My body went through a withdrawal after going off Accord. I tried all other generic brands and finally had to pay for the real thing. I don’t even feel as good on that. My body wants Accord!

Where on earth did you find Accord? I’m so jealous. Can’t wait til it returns! I’m even on the brand name and it just isn’t the same.

I hear ya. Why is Accord so good? Even better than the real thing! Maybe the fillers. My body loves it!

Re: Salgal222 (# 84) Expand Referenced Message

Mine too. They say in the other ingredients is the mechanism for you to absorb it, and the different manufacturers can use different ones. Apparently our bodies only likes what accord uses. I called Accord today to ask about when it would be back. They said they get numerous calls a day from people that can only use accord, so we are not the only ones. They need FDA clearance to ship again. They have to satisfy some requirements at their plants that were in violation. Clonazepam is in shortage, so hoping to get that back sooner, but will not even know a date it will be available again until October sometime. Said to call back in October and they might know when.

I was able to get a ten month supply set aside for me thankfully. It’s all they had left. I cut the pills in half and they filled a 90 day for me so that’s 180 pills and they said they can do 60 days for my refill and will hold that bottle for me until then for my refill. They said they just got their supply a month ago from their wholesaler. No idea how they even did that. But they said they put an alert in their system that if accord becomes available anywhere from their supplier list it will notify them. If I were you I’d find a local mom and pop where they are more apt to work for you this way and ask them to do this for you. I’d assume the ten months I have will take me to when the med is back online. That’s next June. My calls let me to believe accord was thinking end of year hopefully. But obviously there can be delays.

Re: Salgal (# 95) Expand Referenced Message

I was able to get three refills in the same month. I first tried liquid Klonopin from a compounding pharmacy and it didn’t work so I refilled my old Teva a week later. That kept failing so a week later I found Accord and my doctor was able to call the pharmacist for an override and allowed me to fill it as long as I turned in my old stuff. They’ll do it if it’s for a legit reason like brand change.

Re: Kita (# 99) Expand Referenced Message

I cut it in half to make two .25s and then I file each .25 down to my current daily dose of .169mg. Tapering ever so slowly. I’m sensitive to subtle changes, including brands and dose changes so I only do like 2% every two weeks. It will take forever, years, but I don’t feel like hell when I do it this way. That is assuming I ever adjust back to this Accord. I feel much improvement but the Teva destabilization isn’t going away so quick.

Re: mikeyjoed (# 93) Expand Referenced Message

I took you advice and made a list of all small independent pharmacies in and around my area. Kept calling all until I found one. I was able to find one that had 2mg Accord left. My dr. Is going to write a script for it to take a quarter tablet. They are going to keep what they had left for me, so hopefully will get me to when Accord is available again. Now it is just trying to get them to fill it early. Hope my doctor can get through the red tape! Thanks for your advice to call the mom and pops. Took quite a few phone calls, but persistence paid off! I would have driven anywhere if they had it. I feel terrible on Klonopin. Feel like I have not taken anything. Feel like a nervous cat! Can't wait to get back on Accord!

No but it was hard to tell how much I was taking with all the cutting crumbling and filing. Maybe a compounding pharmacy can help. I’m going to ck with them.

Re: Salgal (# 111) Expand Referenced Message

Same here. Weird that it has that K cutout in the brand Klonopin. Definitely felt undermedicated. Just got a text my new script for 2mg Accord to be cut in quarters is ready. Hope my body adjust back quickly! Glad to have found this message board, for advice, and feel that I am not alone.

Re: Kone (# 114) Expand Referenced Message

How much of a supply will you get from that pharmacy once you get it cut into quarters between your current script and what they are holding for you? I really hope accord doesn’t have anymore hang ups and comes back early next year at the latest.

Re: Kone (# 116) Expand Referenced Message

Good for you. My supply is supposed to be 10 months. I have 6 in hand and they have another four they say they will hold. Hoping they can find more elsewhere. I’ve taken ten pills so far and while some of the Teva side effects are no longer around, I feel the Teva really did a number on my nervous system and I’m feeling really blah and run down adjusting back. I know accord works and made me feel so well the last two years, but the brain isn’t easily changed and my brain really went through a lot of stress in Teva and even the compounded liquid I tried. Gonna take time for that to settle down. I’ve lost 23 lbs in two months from the stress Teva put on my body. It was really bad. Just bring back on Accord doesn’t eliminate what happened. I’m super sensitive to meds and changes so I’m not surprised.

Re: Reggie (# 125) Expand Referenced Message

I would contact your doctor about this. It may not be accord, it may just be your body has grown tolerant to the med. it’s very common with benzos overtime where a dose that used to work no longer works. Teva isn’t bad, a lot of people love it. But for certain individuals it doesn’t work well for them. It is a very individual thing so Teva may end up working really well for you. Talk to your doc and see what they think.
