Clindamycin, Hot Flashes, Sweating

Can Clindamycin cause mild hot flashes, and feeling of sweating? I looked at side effect list and it is not listed.

Yes, it's normal for most medications to cause those types of symptoms and very commonly reported.

The FDA lists the other side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

If it gets too severe, you should have things checked out by your doctor.

I have only today and tomorrow left on this medication for dental surgery. It has made me feel tired, and like I'm sweating. I was worried because I asked a few people who took the medication, and they said they didn't know, it didn't affect them this way. But I really appreciate your reply! As I couldn't find the side effects I was having really listed. I feel the hot flash in my back and chest area only, it's very mild, with mild sweating, could this be heartburn? which is listed as a side effect. I have never experienced heartburn, so I do not know what it feels like.

Yes, I was taking Clindamycin for a tooth infection. Side effects I experienced were sweating, dizziness, mild diarrhea, red skin & tendonitis on my right foot. Clindamyacin also lowered my INR significantly.

Hi I've been on this antibiotic for a week four times a day...just started feeling hot flashes at the end of prescription...thought it was humid out that's why I felt hot..

I have a slight fever and flushed face. I stopped taking clindamycin after 3 days. Can you have a flushed face from clindamycin?

I just started clindamycin yesterday and have taken a total of 5 pills and have the sweats so it definitely seems to be a side effect for some people.

I am taking Clindamycin. 1 week now my thumb had an infection. I sweat perfussly. One mind say come here..please. add that to the side effects. I fell like two bucket ?? of water on me Daily.

I've been on it for 3 days , I'm sweating, I thought also humidity but no cause I got A/C on my hair was wet

Hi, I’ve been taking clindamycin for a little less than a week and noticed I’ve been having hot flashes as well. I wasn’t sure though, until day 3 when I realized I had adjusted the house thermostat up and down multiple times within 2 hours. The sweating is profuse but the overall “event” is short lived. I did have to change clothes a few of those times.
