In the U.S. Citicoline is available over the counter, as a supplement and in some energy drinks.

Therefore, I do not have any information on drug studies and etc.

Citicoline mechanism of action is to support the neural membrane by helping to stabilize the phospholipid complex (should help with normal neuron function) and also supports the production of neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine (also linked with memory) and dopamine.
