Ciprofloxacino And Pregnancy

While taking Ciprofloxacino my pregnancy test came out positive. Is it a side effect of this medicine? If not Is it ok to take this medicine during first trimester?

According to the U.S. FDA this medication is not known to cause false positives on pregnancy tests, nor is is known to cause any problems, if taken while pregnant, but it is always best to double check with your doctor to be sure. The typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, diarrhea, and headache.
