this was prescribed to my girlfriend because she has a cold/ flu

Can I take ciprofloxacin 500 mg for the flu...my husband has the flu with cough, fever, congestion...he is on an antibiotic and Tamiflu...now I'm at the early stage of the flu, I had this antibiotic for something else I had before, thought I could take this to nip it in the bud before it gets too bad.
