Cipro Versus Bactrim For Prostatitis & Chronic Epydidymitis

I'm currently being treated for prostatitis w/Cipro. Also have chronic epydidymitis. Originally prescribed Bactim, but showed no improvement after 4 days, so was given 60 day course of Cipro. I've researched Cipro on the internet and am now very concerned about being on a fluoroquinolone drug for such a long time. I also suffer a lot from issues related to my gut. Could I expect it to still be effective to stop the Cipro & go back & finish the Bactrim prescription now? I have completed 10 days on the Cipro and have about 6 days of pills left on the Bactrim. Meanwhile, I still have pain & symptoms related to my prostate & testicle.

The Bactrim is more likely to cause you problems, since it is a sulfa based antibiotic and many people end up being very sensitive to it, or allergic to it.

I can see that this was posted a bit ago, so what did you end up doing?
