Cilift How To Go Off Of The Drug

How do I go off of Cilift, I have been on it for 2 years and have put on 20kgs. I put on about a kg a month since I started taking the meds. I am a healthy, active person who enjoys my food, but do not feel satisfied after a meal anymore, I want more and more. I have had a hesterectomy a year ago, and had a hormone test which is normal. I am not on any other medication. Please advise.

Have you consulted your doctor about it?

Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant, this class of medications is well known to cause weight gain.

However, when it comes to stopping it, you usually have to taper off of it, slowly, because suddenly stopping it may cause some severe withdrawal and rebound effects.

Your doctor should be able to help you taper down your dosage, to minimize them as much as possible.

I have consulted with my Doctor and will be off of the medication in another month, weening off.

I HAVE ALSO BEEN USING CILIFT FOR 1 YEAR NOW. I HAVE PICKED UP SO MUCH WEIGHT. I TRIED LEAVING CILIFT AND FELL INTO A DEPRESSION, AFTER LEAVING CILIFT AFTER 6 MONTHS. I DON'T WANT TO USE IT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!
