No registration is required and your identity remains anonymous. My father in law is on a cholesterol lowering medication and is no longer allowed to eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice. I have just begun Zocor and am concerned. ## I just read that you can't drink more than a quart of juice or large amount of grapefruit. That being said, I'd ask your pharmacist. ## my father eats grapefruit, but his doctor told him not to eat it very often ## I eat 1/2 a grapefruit in the AM and take my Zocor at night. Is there a problem with doing this? ## There is an enzyme in grapefruit that can inhibit your body's ability to break down some medications, such as Zocor, which could result in you absorbing too much of the given medication. Thus, it is best to abstain from eating grapefruit, or drinking its juice, while taking Zocor. However, if your...

What Are The Real Benefits Of Aztor 20mg and i have been done angeioplast what is aztor 20 mg related to it. My cholestrol level is 54 ## "Aztor (atorvastatin) is used along with diet, exercise, and weight-loss to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke and to decrease the chance that heart surgery will be needed in people who have heart disease or who are at risk of developing heart disease. Atorvastatin is also used to decrease the amount of cholesterol (a fat-like substance) and other fatty substances in the blood. Injectable. Available in Mexico by prescription. I purchased DNF at a mexican pharmacy (as prescribed), a course of treatment - 1 small box containing 3 ampules of a brownish liquid along with a second small box containing a corresponding number of new, clean, individually wrapped syringes. The DNF box of ampules, was labelled front and back with a complete list of the content of the ampules, directions for use, and warnings.Treatment for me was 1 injection a day for three days, each given by the doctor in his office. I had no prior knowledge of Dolor neurobion forte - (not available in the U.S)., a Merck product. I was in central Mexico with a terrible flare up of sciatica. I went to a good Mexican physician - who despite our initial dual bit of the language barrier - was able to carry...

A new NIH study just came out in finding that you can most likely stretch your dollar with the use of statins. "Alternate-day dosing of individual statins (especially atorvastatin and rosuvastatin) is as efficacious as daily dosing on LDL-C and TG." Source: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28741244 ## Thank you very much for posting this study and valuable information. Some other recent studies have found that concern about cholesterol levels is not as important as once thought. High levels don't always mean that someone is more prone to heart disease, or other issues, according to AMA studies. But, as with all other medical information, this could change at any given time, if more research turns up other findings. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Question: Could either of ...
I have began taking Cholestyramine for Oral Suspension for the severe diarrhea I have been living with following the removal of my gall bladder in June, 2018. It seems to be working, but I am con- cerned about it absorbing the blood thinning medication I have been on following 3 strokes. There have been no more strokes since beginning Plavix 6 years ago. Does anyone know the answer? I would appreciate any help given towards answering this question!

I have taken this med for almost 2 years now and have been having a lot of joint pain. Anyone else experience this? It really helps my stomach but the joint pain is getting bad. ## Hi nickel, Sorry to hear about your situation. 2 years is a long time to take something without experiencing any adverse reactions. According to DailyMed (NIH), musculoskeletal side effects such as muscle/joint pain, backache, & arthritis are all listed as known side effects of Cholestyramine. Ref: dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=362ddd91-a63f-4ec6-841a-75785dd208c8 As the case with many medications, the decision to continue treatment may boil down to determining whether the benefits of Cholestyramine outweigh its side effects. I hope you find relief soon! ## i followed up with my doctor ...
I was diagnosed with high Cholesterol and put on Aspavor. I believe that it is causing side effects such as high uric acid, fatigue and joint pains. I decided to stop taking the medication and try nutrition and healthy food in stead however I was told this could be dangerous and stopping Aspavor may cause heart attack. Is this true and how can I safely stop the medication. ## Aspavor contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin and stopping it abruptly might cause some rebound effects, such as your cholesterol going back up suddenly to very high levels, which is what may cause a heart attack. Learn more Aspavor details here. Thus, it would be best to talk to your doctor, before taking any action, to be as safe as possible. Are there any other questions? ## I am currently on Bilocor 5 ,Am...

I have taken crestor for 15 years but just got a different size and color pill. Smaller than the usual deep red, with H on one side and 30 on the other - Is this crestor? ## Hello Deb, I honestly wasn't able to find a pill that matches your description but based off of what the crestor website shows they do not make a pill that matches your description. I believe that it may still be a rosuvastatin pill but since it's a 30mg and crestor only makes 5/10/20/40mg it may be a generic instead. I am a little worried that I wasn't able to find it. Does your medication label have a manufacturer listed or a labeler listed? If so I might be able to get a bit more information on the pill if you would like.
How long does it take WelChol to get out of your system once you quit taking it after the last dose? ## I've been off welchol for nearly 6 months. My skin reacted very badly and after biopsies, I was diagnosed with a " drug rash/reaction. How long does it remain in the bloodstream after you stop taking it? ## Hello Ellie, Surprisingly WelChol does not have a listed half life on the National Institute of Health. This could mean a number of things but ultimately it means that there is no real way to give you an efficient answer. It will come down to how fast your body is able to metabolize the drug and really the only person who would be able to give you an educated guess would be your primary care doctor. This is my first time encountering a prescription drug that doesn't hav...
