Chlorthalidone Horrible Side Effects
UpdatedI started taking this drug 2 days ago as the beta blocker I was on was making me feel terrible but I am having the same side effects. My heart is pounding, I feel nauseous and very weak all day. My blood pressure readings have however improved. Should I keep on taking the drug and hope as my body gets used to it the side effects will wear off? It's quite scary sometimes as my heart is pounding so heavily and I am spending most of the day lying down in bed.

Those can be normal side effects of this medication, according to the NIH, you may also experience dizziness, headache, and increased urination.
Side effects are typically transient and should taper off, then go away entirely, once your body gets used to the medication, but that may take 5 to 6 weeks.
If they do not, or if they become severe, you should consult your doctor.
Is there anything else I can help with?
