UpdatedI have essential tremor and I have recently been prescribed chlorthalid. I would like to know if there is newer information on the side effects of chlorthalid and Parkinson disease?

Hello, Danny! How are you?
I've not found any warnings or contraindications for those taking it that have Parkinson's.
However, as listed by the FDA, it may cause musculoskeletal weakness, as side effect, which may make the tremors seem worse. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and dehydration.
Have you also checked with your doctor to be sure?
