Chantix Headache And Nausea (Top voted first)
Updated
I have been taking Chantix for a week tomorrow. From the first pill, I started getting a headache. Since then, the headache has stayed with me even after using ibuprofen and all throughout the night I am awakened by it. NEVER have I had a headache for this long and RARELY have I suffered headaches before, just mild and on occasion. The nausea comes and goes, but when it hits it hits hard. I feel weak and groggy too. I am hoping this will go away once I stop taking the Chantix, but I want to give it a few weeks so I can kick the habit. Yes, also a nasty taste in my mouth and no real interest in food, but eat because I know I have to. VERY BIZARRE how such a small pill with such low dosage can wreak so much havoc. I know for the long term, if it works, quitting is what's best for me, but WOW people...the side effects can be rather restrictive, even somewhat paralyzing. Some people say it didn't effect them at all when they used it and it DID help them stop smoking. Everyone is different, that is for sure!

The headache just got worse as the afternoon drug on. I almost left work! After speaking to my physicians office, we agreed that I should stop taking the Chantix altogether. Tomorrow would increase my dose by double and if I am having this severe of an issue now, that will only compound the problem. I am so looking forward to this headache going away. Wow it's been an experience!
Its a shame you can't take Chantix I took it nearly 5 yrs ago and I quit smoking within a couple of weeks of taking it the only side effects I got were the weird dreams and boy they were weird. Have you tried patches
My father was a heavy smoker for 40+ years. He quit cold turkey out of sheer will power just over 3 years ago and hasn't had any cravings since. I think everyone who wants to quit smoking should embrace a really good life changing reason to quit in order to develop the mental fortitude that's necessary to follow through with the intention. As far as physical withdrawal symptoms, this may be different for each individual, but I can say that my father only experienced about a week or two of "discomfort" and mild cold symptoms before he started to feel better. Hopefully this testimony will encourage others to take back control over their lives with or without the help of Chantix. Good luck to everyone on their journey!
I took Chantix and about the third week I had a migraine along with Cold sweats and vomiting uncontrollable and every time I got sick my head was unbearable they they, It skill worked because I could bare it getting over the initial cravings
