Changing The Time I Take My Lo Loestrin Fe (Top voted first)

Updated

I'd like to change the time of my dose from 7am to 9pm. I am on week 2 of my pills. Can I just begin taking them in the evening? Or do I need to do it gradually?

Thanks!

Generally, you have a window of 24 hours, before it would be considered missing a pill, so you should be fine to switch the time, unless your doctor says otherwise.

However, since that is a gap of 14 hours, it may result in some more breakthrough bleeding or spotting than usual, for a few days or so.

Other side effects to oral contraceptives, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS like symptoms.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello, Doni! How are you?

A window of a few hours is fine, there's about a 12 hour window to take it, before it would be considered taking it late.

And doing so won't interfere with it protecting you from pregnancy. They really just stress your taking it at the same time each day, so it becomes habit and you don't miss any tablets.

Are there any other questions or concerns?

Hello I also have a question related to timing. I have been on the pill for 3 months because I was not getting a period. Doc. suggested it for estrogen. I tend not to take the pill at the same time everyday. I generally take it between 7pm and 11pm.

Is that ok, again I am not using the pill for protection against pregnancy, just taking it to get estrogen and the other compositions of the pill into my body.

I'm on the 2nd pack of the Lo Loestrin Fe and I want to change the time of taking the pill because I got a new job and the timing Im doing now is going to be hard to take while Im in the middle of work. Im taking it at 1pm now and I want to change it to 11:30pm. What do I need to do to change the time without affecting my protection.
