Changing Doses; Difference Between Hydros N Dilos
UpdatedHi I'm opioid dependent. My boyfriend and I take at least 20 to 24 mg of dilaudids within a 24 hour period. If we miss, we get sick. We're starting methadone tomorrow and plan on quitting this dangerous addiction. Because me (not my boyfriend), I get very anxious when i feel an abnormal symptom (usually it's nothing).
So my question is: I usually take an 8 mg dilaudid with my boyfriend. I am wondering if we're actually taking 4 mg each. Seems logical. And I changed my dose because I wanna get off of it on my own without having to take methadone so I started going down by sharing two 4's mg with my boyfriend. Not much of a difference but I started to wonder if we were actually reducing. Then I switched to 2 mg. first I started taking 6mg (three 2 mg) and reduced to two 2mg. But something strange happened. When I took those 2 mg, it felt really strong. I just started to panic.
I'm confused and I just really need someone to help me understand the doses and the difference between hydros n dilos different milligrams like 2-4-8mg and 3-6-9-12-18-24-30mg of hydromorphone.
Like for example: I usually take a entire 12mg hydromorphine which is suppose to be stronger than dilaudid, with my boyfriend (and I'm wondering if we're actually taking 6mg each) and sometimes it's not strong enough but tonight we took two 2mg separately, that's 4mg dilaudid altogether.
