Changing Dose Time
UpdatedLopressor 25mg
I have been on Lopressor 25mg for about 6 months, prescribed by my cardiologist for irregular heart beat and palpitations. I take it right before bed with a glass of water. More nights than not I wake up many time thru the night and lately I have been having trouble falling asleep. My heart beats irregularly when I lay down but if I get up and sit in a chair all is well. I would like to change the time I take the pill from night to morning. Is it safe to skip my nighttime dose and take it the next morning instead? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello, Harvey! How are you?
I would suggest checking with your doctor, before making a change. It sounds like this medication just isn't lasting you a full 24 hours, so something needs adjusted.
Were you originally instructed to take it at night?
Thanks for the reply. I talked to my pharmacist and he said it would be OK to switch to mornings. I had no instructions from the Dr. as to what time of the day to take the meds.
