I have been on 100mg of morphene twice a day with 5mg 325+ of oxycodone 4times a day for 6yr. Now my Dr. is going to stop all of that and putting me on 3 oxycodone 20s a day. The other had the pain tolerable ,does this sound like a good move?

Hello, Robbie! How are you?

No, 60mgs a day of Oxycodone is nowhere near equivalent to the 200mgs of Morphine you were taking and that's not even figuring in the 5/325's that you were taking.

You'd need 133.33mgs of Oxycodone to equal the 200mgs of Morphine.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

You may end up with some withdrawal and a lot of breakthrough pain.

Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor?
