Hi? My name is Madie. I have burn marks in my both forearms since 5 yrs ago. I've been treating it ever since. It has healed but on my right forearm I still have an open cut n its oozing puss n time to time it hurts me n it gets swollen. I assume it could be infected. Could this medicine work for me n for how many hours I should take it? Every six hours or every eight hours. I have taken Keflex before for other things.

Madie, please consult your doctor, if you have an open wound that is causing issues that long after it happened, then you may need some special treatments for it, which could include IV antibiotics. They should do a tissue culture. to discover the type of bacteria, so they can prescribe that appropriate antibiotics to eradicate it.

Ref: Infection Information

It is not a good idea to try to treat yourself with an antibiotic that you have available, due to the fact that it could cause your body to develop antibiotic resistance, which can cause some serious medical problems, some of which can be fatal.
