Caverject Doesn't Work

I've been using caverject over 10 years without problems. But now my last 3 times when I've tried it hasn't worked. Was wondering can there be faulty needles etc because inserting the needle immediately feels difficult and doesn't go through like before? It feels like pushing the needle through rubber etc. and feels like the needle just gets stuck and doesn't go through like normally. And afterwards my penis gets a bit swollen but ultimately the injection doesn't work. I've tried both sides and got the same effect. Could be there some problems with the solution or needles? My last order was 4x 20ml so could those have some fault? I've used now 3 of them and had no effect?

3 months ago i started caverject, 5mg, then 10mg, then 15mg, then 20mg, then 20 +10, then 20+20mg and still no effect, this last one gave 1/2 stiff but useless for intercorse. Followed instructions precisely, i did the 20+10 as one per side, and the 20+20 i did on the same side. Just spent a lot of money and still have a frustrated wife.

I have been using Caverject for about a year and sometimes use Viagra which seldom works, however i have found it very important to follow this procedure:

1 - Shake it thoroughly to ensure it's mixed and clear.
2 - Make sure it comes out easily - If you force it, it appears not to work!
3 - This I find very important after the injection - Stand up and roll the penis between your palms hard for one minute, this should give good results!

Have you been able to puncture through the membrane? You'll know if you have as it does feel like you're pressing against a rubber band and it sort of "pops" through when you've done it. If you haven't pierced that, the solution won't work!

The only way I have been able to make sure I'm getting through the skin and then the membrane is by tightening the skin on the side I wish to inject, once the needle is through I can relax so the solution can go into the muscle easier.

Hi all, I am a satisfied Caverject patient but today I don't know what I did wrong. Today I did not get any effect (I am at my 5th injection, all the others went good). My penis becomes so little when I want to inject (I am very anxious). I was careful to avoid visible veins, 90-degree angle, etc... But when I inserted the needle I couldn't push for the injection. I tried to push the needle a bit more, nothing, then I pulled it out a bit and then I was able to push the injection. I pressed the injection point for avoiding blood, etc... Then I waited for the effect but I felt pain instantly and not the normal erection. The pain was especially bad near the glands. Then the pain increased and only after a few more hours this pain went away. Can anyone suggest me something? Thanks a lot. Another curiosity is how can the alprostadil go to the other cavernous corpus? In my case, I saw a very little tumescence but only on the side of the injection.

I have been using caverject for almost 20 years and I'm very pleased with it. I don't mind keeping an erection even after I ejaculate as it gets me going again. I have a great urologist and he's the one who got me to try the caverject. I love it. Scarring is minimal and I very rarely have a bruise. It works on both sides of my genitalia. At first I was squeamish about it but now it doesn't bother me at all. Caverject gives me an erection like I was 20 years old again.

I have the same problem the last 3 times I’ve used caverject, twice on the left and once on the right side. No erection just sore and swelling on the side I injected it into. Anyone know if this is dangerous or can cause long term damage? Thanks

I have increased my dose to 30 mg. Due to covid i can't meet the surgeon. Can anyone tell me as the dose comes in 20mg and 10 mg? Can this be given as 1 injection instead of 2 injections?

This happened to me twice on the left side and now my penis is permanently damaged because of it. This was never explained to me by my consultant that this could happen and I’m devastated because of it. I had been using regularly and exactly as directed with no issues but found it difficult using my left hand. Make sure you turn your penis 180 degrees in on itself that both side bulge out. Insert the needle 30 degrees all the way in and if the injection is difficult to push out keep pushing it will come out and it will work properly. If you take the needle out a tiny bit so that it injects easier as I did, stop immediately, you’ll inject in the wrong area, won’t get an erection just lumps and very sore for hours and possible do damage. I hope this will help someone?

I am not a phisician, but sounds like you could be could be developing fibrosis. I would make an appointment with my urologist to get a professsional opinion.

The penis has a septum which has a permeable membrane. The medicine seeps through, normally.

I know the feeling, me too. I did increase the dose to 25 and it helped but any more than that seems to cause some loss of senation in the glans.

Yes. Mix two 20 mcg cakes into one vial using one ampule of benzal alcohol to get 40 mcg then withdraw 75 units using a 1ml insulin syringe or 3/4 of a luer type syringe 1 ml.
