Carisoprodol Or Something Else? (op-35)
UpdatedI was born with cerebral palsy, blessed with a mild case, hemipligic (one side of my body) is damaged for people out there that don't know what that is... My motor nerves were damaged at birth, weather before or after labor I will never know, but your motor nerves are what moves your muscles, so I take soma for the involuntary muscle spasms my right side of the body has 24/7... Thanks to the lord I can still walk... Recently I have been given 3 different generic brands of soma from the rite aide that I had great repor with for 15gears and one other pharmacy that I returned to wondering if I can get the qualitest brand that I trusted for years, well it has been hell, excuses be gone please from these pharmacists that take me in circles and have told me how to question this matter without being lied to!!! My question is, has qualitest recently merged with a pharmaceutical company called "Para pharm"? And where, if possible can I find qualitest brand somas 350mg in southern California? Thank you very much for reading all of this, I really needed to get this off my chest and out there!!! D.W.

I'm not sure where you live, or why we shop at Rite Aid (Merger's off) but all my California store has had for 3 years is Qualitest. I just got some the other day.
Hello Debbie,
In September of 2015 Qualitest merged with Par Pharm which is a different company than Para Pharma. As far as I can read Para Pharma primarily deals with body building medicines whereas Qualitest focuses primarily on the health sector.
I know it can be frustrating dealing with pharmacies and other companies in the medical industry but do try to remember that these are businesses and they need to adapt to the market in order to maintain maximum profitability like all other businesses. This tends to be the leading cause of people complaining that the medical industry does not practice ethical business, where maximizing profits can come at the cost of their customers way of living. The medical professionals at these pharmacies typically have limited windows in which the owners of these chains bind them to, this leads to them often purchasing lower quality generics that they can sell for larger margins of profit.
I wish you the best of luck and I hope that you find the generic you are looking for.
I'm in Florida. IN February i also had been receiving the kind your speaking of and asked always for that brand. for Feb they called the company to order and told me that the company told them ThaT they are no longer making them!?! i was told the only ones left on market are the DAN ones. BUT THIs month April, i received these OP ones. they don't work. i guess they're a about to getting rid of all the brands that work ... just like they have with the working brands of our pain meds! we're all left with crap and no pain relief!
Re: JJ (# 3)
I also understand Qualitest is done. PAR bought them? I understand PAR'S SOMA isn't much good, Dan makes me pukey.
Anyone find a good replacement?

CVS had none of this med this month. they said they're on back order and didn't know how long UNTIL it would be filled. said trouble with manufacturers? i couldn't wait, been days already i was out and waited 2. i switched to Wal-Mart. they had plenty IN stock and they are an SG Brand. these are so much better. by far more like the Dan that ppl say worked best. i have trouble with all these making my stomach hurt, so i had been splitting my doses. except for OP brand they were doing nothing for pain and still hurt my stomach. these SG ones work and no stomach pains!
Re: JJ (# 5)
Soma shouldn't hurt your Stomach, if anything it should relax it? It might be time to get Scoped, I've done it 10 times over 40 years
Re: EDDY (# 6)
actually, abdominal pain is a side effect for some ppl. even pharmacy said ppl have complained of same. I've been scoped. everything's fine. all other brands i break pill, half ..then wait hour for other half and ok like that. but with SG brand it works great. and can take the whole one without any problems.
I live in southern cal & have noticed Qualitest is not being given. It was the only brand that worked the best. All I can say is go to a mom & pop store. The big pharmacies are giving the graph ones that don’t work very well. Lately all I’ve been getting are the ave sun brand. They don’t last very long at all. I always went to Ralph’s who used to dispense Qualitest but not any more. Try calling around to the smaller independent pharmacies & ask ahead before going in with your script. If you are close to Fullerton, Ben’s Pharmacy carries them. But call ahead to be sure. And if you specify that Qualitest is the only band that works for you, they may order it for you. Good luck. Let me know how you made out.

I'm not sure you will find Qualitest anymore? They were a fine brand!
