Carbamazepine With A Sleep Aid

I take 800mg every night. Since a death in the family I am having much trouble sleeping. Can I take a prescription sleeping pill?

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. You could certainly look into prescription sleeping aids. Below is a link that lists a number of commonly prescribed ones:

Make sure you show your doctor which medications you plan on trying and he will be able to tell you which ones do or do not have an interaction with the Carbamazepine.

Another alternative for a prescription sleeping aid is medical marijuana. Depending on which state you live in, you can get yourself a medical card for it. Personally I think it can replace any sleep medication and help you to take your mind off everyday troubles; but some people have personal views against using it for various reasons. I think that if it is used appropriately it can be a lifesaver. Your doctor most likely would not recommend it though, because it is natural. So if you are interested, I would suggest looking up the right doctors for it on weedmaps.
