I feel ya..To add insult to all of this The Pharmacy never tells me when out of stock and dont know when it will be in stock. Refuse to call another Walmart. Also wait until ur late re- filling them. Most the Pharmacist refuse to speak to you at all until the day of refill (30th). That means 30 days since last refill and by law paper prescription only. The then tell don't have in stock. So you are made to come back for no reason if you try early so they can make sure to order or at least give you a few days to try something to get what you must take. Can't function without my meds. ..I feel the Pharmacy never intended to refill and every time tell me to go to Emergency Room. That E.R is for Urgent medical needs and not to be flooded with patients due to the dishonest Pharmacist/Techs..Also add the most are very rude, unprofessional and treat patients and myself as if we are homeless Street drug users..The lack of respect and the abuse I have taken from Pharmacy Techs. and Pharmacist is very alarming. Seems to be worse when I don't take a neighbor (a man) because the male Pharmacist do not talk to him that way. Since I lost my husband in 2012 I have been getting a lot of this being a female. Can they kick me anymore when I'm down at my lowest ..Since the Pain Pump surgery at the end of year 2011,the pump gave me MRSA Almost lost my life .So after a 60 day stay battling MRSA with new complications as well.( I was at Memorial Hospital Wound Center. ) I was released April 2012. Then 2 weeks after lost husband of 13 years. The only family I had. I'm alone have not been able to get better since that time due to all the new problems and numerous withdrawals my body has been forced to take because no pain relief or meds. The stress and fear of hospital alone has caused even additional serious mental issues. My Neurologists is very concerned but his hands are tied too. I pray even more because of more patients kill themselves, as 2 hospice patients killed themselves because they could not get pain meds. and the pain is so great (your body and mind can only take so much) Jacksonville Florida, Also assaults are starting now in the parking lot of Walmart over the delivery truck coming in on Thursdays with Pain Medications. I'm afraid to ever enter store again.

We did have a news section on this matter and have a sit down face to face because there is nothing but finger pointing going on back and forth. We need answers for all this violation against those that have nothing to do with law breakers, abusing drug addicts not seeking help, the dealers and pill mills the DEA claims that is who they are after.Representative for the DEA was contacted by Congresswoman Corrine Brown and other local politics for this meeting and it's been 1 year and a half no return call from the DEA since. So now the DEA went on local news last April claiming it's the Pharmacy not doing the job and paperwork needed and Pharmacy should never fear the DEA because no pressure has been put on any manufacturers and there is no reason for these manufacturers to ever fear the DEA..of course a small local Pharmacist which owns the Pharmacy went on camera and said the manufacturers are not sending what he us ordering even though he has a strict profile on those who get pain meds from him and one of those guidelines were you had to be sixty years old..if thatz not fair Don't know what is..U didn't plan to be all crippled up at the age of 34...spent years in the bed just wasting my life away...Much less I could not even think about going back to school for career change or do any work. I'm luckily to get some days to groom myself and spend my days inside..That is a very poor qualilty of life to try living. I just want the honest answers on this pain med problem and help those that have to live somewhat of a life. The pain never goes away but it helps to bring it down so I can at least tolerate. I just try to file online one complaint ever 2 or 3 days so doing my best. We need to help family members or yourself that have Chronic Pain and do our part on speaking up and sign any petitions on this matter..

Hi. I have some information that might be helpful depending on how much you need the meds. If you are willing to go to a methadone treatment clinic and follow their protocols, you can get your medicine. The problem lies with the abusers, not the legitimate patients. So many people lie to their doctors and sell drugs that they obtain fraudulently it has become very difficult to find pharmacies in some states that will fill the prescriptions. With a prescription, you can make an intake appointment at your nearest methadone clinic and, following their program rules, have your meds administered. It's not the best way to do it, but considering the option is to be in pain, it's far better than nothing. I will be doing this very thing when we move to Florida within the next several weeks. I will just be altering my lifestyle for the first several months, until I've established a good working relationship with the staff, at which point I may be able to get enough for a day at a time or even more. However, pain control is important enough to me that I am willing to do what I need to obtain the one med that lets me control the chaos my pain causes without rendering me a blubbering i****.

Absolutely absurd! You are in chronic pain and have to use a methadone clinic like some opiate addict?

Yes, it is sad, but it is necessary if I want to keep getting my pain relief. The problem is that there are a lot of people who lie and either sell the meds they get instead of taking them or they go to more than one clinic and sell the extras. The damage is done when they put those meds, the opioid pain relievers, out on the black market, and people get addicted to them, and then they are arrested with them, or they overdose on them and die....and the lie about patients on pain medications for chronic pain is perpetuated -- the lie that we are addicts, hanging out and waiting to get our meds so we can sell half and then gulp down the other half, waiting for that time when we can slouch on the sofa, drooling like a fool while we enjoy our stoned state of mind. I've NEVER been stoned on methadone. In fact, I had to start at such a low dose it was ludicrous (2.5 mg 3x a day) and then slowly build up to my current dose.

The meds don't take away my pain...that won't happen unless I'm so drugged I lose the ability to act coherently and be a functioning part of society; instead, they temper the pain level so that I can function on an acceptable level without being in so much pain I ask God to kill me. I lived like that when I was on Lortab ER for 6 months, and it was horrid. I spent probably 1 1/2 hours out of every 4 with a decent level of relief and the other 3 1/2 hours were either waiting for the med to kick in or feeling it wear off and watching the clock tick tock away till I could take my next dose. A doc described it as the psychology of short-acting narcotics for pain control...it controls your life. You schedule your entire life around that every 4 hour interval and the blessed few hours when you get pain relief. It stunk, quite frankly.

Now I get to find a doctor who will help me stay sane and with a relatively decent level of pain control, God willing and the creek don't rise. Hopefully that will happen before I run out of medication.

Sorry to tell you that you won't find one either Orlando. Fla. Clinics shot themselves in the foot when they became so greedy that they dispensed thousands of pills per day from each clinic to the point of needing huge safes because it was a cash only business also needed four or five security guards in the parking lot to make sure their patients were safe and they were not abusing drugs in the parking lot. Drug deals went on on a daily basis here people dropped like flies to the point where we ran out of room in the morgue the corner with kept very busy. I do too greedy physicians and desperate addicts so now even people who do severely need meds for the reason that they were intended for and made for we can't get. I never wanted to be on narcotics neither did my husband but we both had bad back from an automobile accident and we could not get what we needed after moving down here from Pennsylvania. My husband ended up having to back fusions done and wanted off the pain meds so every 3 months we would go up to Pennsylvania where my doctor prescribe methadone for pain management. Unfortunately we were on I 75 on our new Harley and a hit and run drunk driver hit us at 90 miles per hour and killed my husband. Crazy enough after her accident which we were both critical I lived I don't know why but after when I awoke from my coma I had absolutely no back pain anymore I stopped taking my meds and never detoxed not one day. Talk about divine intervention what happened there was just simply impossible but I'm telling you it did I was on pain meds for 7 years and then just stopped without taking another one since last February no pain no detox nothing I'm blessed. Good luck my friend finding what you need do yourself a favor try to get off of it all you are doing the one thing no one really thinks of you are trading one demon for another only one may be legal more so than the other and easier to get down here in Florida at the pain management clinics they want to keep upping your dose to make more money and that's the only reason trust and believe me on that. If you go to a pain management clinic here I'm in South Florida plan on paying 250 to $290 per visit office call they will give you a 30 day supply and they will try to give you the strongest narcotic that you'll be able to take each time you go they will give you something stronger keep telling them that you do not want to take stronger narcotics and they will keep giving you stronger ones tell them you want stronger ones they will give you lower doses they're not all of them plan on spending approximately $1,500 for a months supply when you go to any of the mom and pop drugstores of course they will tell you they cannot accept any insurance cards because they have not gotten their paperwork completed yet so you will be playing cash 100% for your meds unless you go to a chain and then of course you will not be able to get them there they will not have them you have a very difficult time getting themselves that's the game down here it's all just a shame and a racket and another money making scheme just like the pain clinics if you ever get the chance to watch the movie oxycontin Express watch it it will give you the real story of what happened down here in South Florida and why we are all suffering now the way we are greedy greedy physicians 2/2 of them are in prison and should be really should be because of all people that are dead because of that greed I hope God will take care of them. To have people suffer in pain legitimately because of car accidents or things happening to them where they sincerely need them and can't get them is a sin. There is a huge price to live in paradise. I wish all of you a good day and I wish you love light life and happiness.

When Pam Bondi ( Fl. Atty Gen) went after the drug dealers, pharmacies and doctors after she was elected, she really made it very difficult for the Florida seniors that are on pain meds to get their doctor prescribed RX filled. She actually has caused a problem of stress and cost to seniors. We are punished because of others that commit crimes. Pharmacies do not want to comply to fill certain doctor prescribed RX meds.

Yes you can! Go to CVS ON FT CAROLINE AND ROGERO RD. THAT IS WHERE I WENT BEFORE I MOVED TO GA, and now I have to travel all over the county to try to get my prescription filled -- if I can get a prescription. This is nuts.

If you are calling the pharmacy they will say it's out of stock to avoid being robbed. If you just turn up in person I'm pretty sure they will have the meds. They are only protecting themselves and their staff. Good luck

You went thru detox while you were in the coma, that's why you don't remember it. There's even a doctor in Cali that will put addicts into a carefully monitored induced coma so they can get off opiates the same way you did, without feeling it, but your body still went thru it, no "divine inyervention" involved, except the fact that you lived to tell the tale...just tell it correctly next time. :-(
BTW- that Dr I read about in California charges $60k, cash...so it's not really an option for most people...unless you live thru a bad accident and coma like the lady in this post.

You have too many meds that I'm not informed enough about to be able to tell you if they will affect your take homes. Call your local methadone clinic and ask them directly. I do know in my city you get to add one take home per month if your urine is consistently clean. After 6 months you will only have to go once per week..that's the way it works here.

My doctor died suddenly in Dec. I had to go to a methadone clinic that said even though I have taken my med 18 years, I was not mentally addicted. He agreed to take me as a patient. BS, he started me on 80mg daily and goes down 5mgs every 2 weeks. It was ok at first but I need it to slow down. He will not listen to me. Won't let me be a regular patient because he says I am physically (not mentally) dependent. The government is so worried about people dying from overdosing on opiates but no concern about people that are ready to commit suicide because we can't legally get what we need for chronic pain. This is crazy

We don't have enough problems, in Jacksonville we have what I call 'Gouging Pharmacies!' I had a bit of luck getting my Doc to split my Rx into weekly scripts. I took my Rx for 42 little Methadone 10mgs.tablets into a new pharmacy and was told that the price was $87.00, but also need to submit 4 non-controlled scripts. He wasn't set up to take my Florida Medicaid, but unfortunately, I was sick and desperate. He didn't have the other meds in stock so I wasn't over-charged as much as I could have been. It seems that such practices should be illegal!

THERE is something not being said here amidat all the anger. While some pharmacies are being tight to the detriment of good patrons, don't assume they lie when they say it is on back order. The new laws only allow the store to order a certain amount, and they can't order more until the first of the month. This assumes the distributor has received enough from the manufacturers (3 or 4 of which have closed down), In Florida it gets worse during season, when the 'snowbirds' come back and the population doubles, thus more people needing the meds and creating a deeper problem with availability. So although I have been told a pharmacy is OUT and then gotten the rx filled after my doctor called, don't assume they are lying. They don't fill fornew faces because the small supply they do have is coveted by regulars who have complained to corporate (a kind winn dixie pharmacist told me this). I hope this info helps clear up some of the frustration.
