Cannot Get My Methadone Script Filled In Jacksonville Florida (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Because the DEA is Treating pharmacies like drug Dealers and blocking their supply chain, I cannot find any Pharmacy in Jacksonville FL. That has it in stock. My Doctor has Be practicing medicine for over 30 years & I've been under his care for 8 years. And never used to have any problem getting my medication, but now the DEA is Treating big pharmacies like CVS just like Drug Dealers. So the sick disabled People living in Chronic pain are suffering. This will never Change. Made if Enough People call their Senators and Congress People and complain every day it might work. I've been doing it I Wish more People would do the same. Something has got to Change. If you are not having a problem. Get ready the DEA is more powerful now than Ever before. PLEASE help

My pain management doctor has advised me to write to state reps and anyone pertain to human suffering. Sad very sad and what sucks is if we were animals they'd put us down. They knew that the baby boomers were aging. Change is needed , I pray I really pray every day in hopes that enough people will pick up the pen because it's my sword and fight for our rights this is the first time in the history of America and Americans did not go up against the government when the government was wrong

Hello found this site by trying to find out where else to go myself, Ive been on methodone for about 10 years now, to top matters off my Dr. of 13 years had to let me go due to the new laws, He isnt in pain mgmt any longer, Found a new Dr but 30 miles away, he cut me down no biggie, but went in 2 weeks ago to find out he had been fired! New Dr treated me like a drug addict off the street, Didnt care about my pain, had the nerve to show me his mri and tell me he ist taking any thing and why i needed it! talking about a melt down i had, Dr started bad mouthing my proir Dr,, I had a panic attack right in his office he didnt care, he has cut me back now to hardly nothing! Wants me to take a blood pressure pill for withdrawls, I was like is this guy for real? yes he is!!! now i cant even get the script filled here, it started getting bad for me about 5 months ago but now no one even knows the new Dr, which im trying to get back in to the group where my arriginal Dr was at but it all takes money which is why im so Livid, We now have a methodone clinic here in Naples and as long as you take them 16 dollars a day you get up to 250 dose per dose but yet every one can go there but yet some one whos trying to work and carry on a great productive life can no longer get a legit prescription filled here!! THIS IS CRAZY

Have u made any process with this problem. I have been taking methadone for 13 years and now I'm in fla and can't get my script filled by anyone. Please help! I am a legitimate patient who has had 3 back surgeries and have been taking the same low dose of methadone, which helps with the pain without any side effects. I don't know what to do?

I am having the same problem as all of you! I have had 3knee reconstructions and need my pain meds for a good quality of life. I know how you feel and that's why I am going to run for Congress or senate here! I've been prescribed methadone for chronic pain for over 5 years. Suddenly no one will fill my prescription. My Doctor has practiced for over 20 years.He's still one of the few to make house calls to the poor & elderly. I've never done anything illegal with my medication. I follow the rules. One Doctor & one pharmacy. Recently the pharmacy I have used put new regulations in place so I am forced to locate a new pharmacy. They did this because of the pressure from the DEA who kept cutting back on the amount of medicine they were allowed to order & or receive. For 18 days & countless pharmacies later I still cannot get my medication. With a broken back & several other auto accident injuries I am almost to a point where I may loose my job because I am unable to function. The DEA should not have the power to take away the judgement of a Doctor to treat his patience in the way he deems necessary.

I am very sorry that you are having so much trouble getting your medication.

Did the pharmacies give you any specific reasons, or did they just say that they don't have it in stock?

How did you check, did you go in person, or did you just call them?

There have been a lot of problems on the east coast with shortages, limited supplies, restrictions on the amount of pills that can be filled each month and etc. So I'm just asking for more details to try to get a better picture of what's going on.

Yea Sometimes they will have it in stock, it's Called Smart Pharmacy . They will Only Fill 160 Of them and if You Doctor Gives you more than 160,You Have Gotta Get your Doctor To write 2 Scripts, 160 On One And The Other Amount On The Other Script. When You Run Out Of The First 160 then Go back & Get The 2and Script filled. If They Have Them. I'm Sure They will Run Out Really Fast Now Because More People Are Starting to Go There. And Me Putting The Name On This Site Isn't Going To Help. If The DEA Wasn't Telling The Pharmacies How Must They Can Order Every Month This Would Not Be Happening, We All Need To Take 10 minutes Every Day And Call Your Congress Person & Senator And White House Comment Line. Tell Them That Disabled People In Chronic Pain Are Suffering Because Of The DEA And If Things Don't Change I Will Not Be Voting For You In The Next Election!. If Enough People Call Every Day Something Will Change. The DEA Should Not Be Making Healthcare Choices For Anyone.

They told me they no longer carry them at all. When I went in person w script in hand..months ago though, when they did, they were 9 bucks a pill....yeah, for people wo insurance legit. Hurt, we can't afford that....but appreciate the info regardless...

I am moving out of state. This has become an impossible situation for me. After six years taking methadone because it is a longer acting pain reliever, I have literally gone off 'cold turkey' I feel likeI am dying. The other bad news is, they gave me morphine sulfate, WHICH DOES NOTHING! I am scared

I am in Naples and having the same problem. I'm a single mom who has a ruptured disc, herniation, disc degeneration, sciatica, slight spinabifida, and stenosis to name a few. I recently plummeted from 90 mg daily to 40, and now I am out and terrified. I also dramatically dropped my Xanax dose and fear a seizure or worse. Walmart filled my prescriptions laat month but informed me that they will no longer be able to do so. I have been on the medication for 12 years and fear another ER trip. Last time I went I was unable to walk or lay still for the MRI. I am terrified =(

Filling a split script is not legal anyway so how can Smart Pharmacy do that?

You are exactly right Stephen, it is the one I always (for yrs now) go too, they just say they have no backup pharmacist on duty or they are out and come back in 2 wks is the usual. I've even been referred to by my normal CVS to other 24 hr CVS's, but no one other than the one I go to Every month will touch my prescriptions. It is absurd. They can just look online, like I did this weekend as I pulled up on their CVS website my old prescription history of everything they have ever filled. It shows it all right there, bit still no one but my ONE CVS by my house will touch me. I am a single parent who struggles with money, I don't have Insurance so it's cash pay only, that's why I shot down some of these places that are 8 dollars a pill (which is sickening). I just can't afford that and won't. Id rather die than take food from my daughters mouth, no matter how bad I feel. I've been working on obtaining disability for awhile, but haven't been approved yet. I believe that's all the info u requested. I do very much appreciate your and WendyLou's info & will definitely take your advice. I must admit I do live In fear of just making my CVS so mad that they won't help me AT ALL, because then Id be in an even worse condition/boat than I am now already...Thank you again for the info. Oh, and My CVS sd I didn't need my Naprosyn/Naproxsyn script with my main big script, but the mom & pop places said the exact opposite. They will not fill it without you having a non-narcotic script with a narcotic script, so I basically I believe NO ONE REALLY KNOWS THE REGULATIONS, AND THEY ARE ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME OF COVER YOUR OWN AZZ 1st...

And Smart pharmacy when I went into there about 4 months back, very desperate and nearly willing to pay a high price for my prescription, said that they no longer even carry those any more...Before that about 6 months prior they told me they had them and would fill them for, at that time, I actually think it was 9 bucks a pill...So Im sure splitting a prescription is easy for them to do. Verbatim they told me the price was so high because they could do that. It was all about supply and demand, and pretty much boasted that they had them and no one else did, so they could charge whatever they wanted...and if I didn't have 800/900 dollars, then move along out of the line, because the guys (from out of state) behind me probably did have the money....I tell you this, Gods honest truth. This was the one month I went in 2 days to over 32 different places (WinnDixies, CVS's, & Walgreens) ( because I can afford them there) in Jacksonville. We drove all the way out to McClenney,the beaches, to downtown, and past Arlington...trying to find just one place to fill at least one of my prescriptions...I had my sister drive because I couldn't and we had to fill the gas tank 3 times...No luck at all. This is when all this crap first started...Since then I've learned to save myself the gas money, suck up the pain, and just wait since I have no choice anyway...

WendyLou..Yea Smart Pharmacy Has 2 Locations The One I go to is on San Pablo, the Other location is 3740 St.Johns Bluff Rd., Ste.19... This Is In The East Pointe Business Park, I've Never been To that Location But it is on Their Business Cards, You can call The Pharmacy on san Pablo rd & they can Give you the phone # and other information. I didn't mean to upset you-- I too have over 10 years in pm and have seen and done the same as you have. In fact, the only reason I get anything at all is becauae after nearly a week with no meds, and unable to keep driving to more than 50 places, being looked at like scum nland even being smirked at when tears came involuntarily, I was forced to drop my medication by 2/3rds of what I had taken for 12 years. I guess I just felt the need ro mention the issue I thought was missed, but perhaps was in another post. I wasn't discrediting you personally. Some asvice rto all who cannot get medication anywhere: try to reduce what you taake because some is better than none. I'm not gwtting the pain relief I waa getting at my proper tailored dose, but I have to adjust to this because it was the only way. God help us all.

If you guys think this is bad now, just wait til Obamacare kicks in full force. No longer will our doctors be overseeing our health care but a bunch of bureaucrats! I've had chronic pain since 2006 and I still have yet to attempt to find another pain management dr. The first and only one I went to (although I had legitimate MRI) would up being a pill mill. I was young, only 27, and didn't even know what a pill mill was. Had never heard term before. Them the place got raided and I was terrified I was gonna be arrested because they seized all the patients. I wasnt there when it happened but it was on the news her in Jax. My boyfriend told me not to worry because although a lot of people didn't have MRI's, I had a legitimate one showing I indeed DID have SEVERAL back problems. And all this at the ripe old age of 27 and I'm 36 more. I've dealt with this for going on 10 years. 4 car accidents, 33 residential moves in 27 years (up to almost 40 moves more in 36 years) where I asked for no help lifting heavy items bc of my damed independence, years in gymnastics, not to mention being severely accident prone since I fell out of a moving car at a year and a half old. My primary gives me only 30 count 7.5mg hydrocodone a month which doesn't come close to touching the pain bc it comes to 1 tablet a day. Same script for over 2 years. I think my body had developed a little bit of tolerance to the 7.5's and I'm absolutely TERRIFIED to bring it up to him or any other dr for that matter. All these celebrities overdosing doesn't help our cause either. I'm afraid if I mention it that they will think I'm drug seeking when I'm not. I have my MRI showing EVERYTHING and yet I'm still scared. I woke up in bed this morning for work in so much pain I was literally writhing around in bed whining I hurt so bad. And of course its Saturday and there's not a damn thing i can do about it today or tomorrow. I'm tired of non-needful people making it harder and, in my case, scarier for the rest of us to even broach the subject. In my mind, whether true or not, anyone who needs pain intervention is thought of by the dr as a drug addict. And I can't stand to be thought of that way. I wish these doctors and effin' DEA agents couldwalk in my shoes for only a day. Then they'd see the truth and how debilitating this can be. I give up. I think I'm gonna suffer until I die of old age or the pain gets so bad that I kill myself.!!!!!!

Hi WendyLou, sorry I haven't been in touch. I have back and neck probs like I mentioned previously which Im sure u r aware comes with numbness in the lower extremities..I woke up one morning and tried to walk and ended up walking on the top of my foot instead of the bottom..heard some crunching and popping...Not good. Long story short, I have broken my freakin toes, severly sprained my foot AND my ankle, and either torn a tendon or ripped a muscle in my ankle and/or foot/calf..who knows which, (cuz they all hurt)... I went to the E.R. back on Sept 6th, and I STILL Cannot walk...This is in addition to the normal back and neck pain I deal with every day, so I can't even feed myself right now basically. Ever tried to carry a cup and food on crutches? It doesn't work out too well unless you balance everything in a cup holder and plastic bag....Living on the 2nd floor doesn't help...So needless to say, until I can get into an orthopedic surgeon I can afford ASAP, unfortunately Im gonna be pretty useless until its better...If it gets better....
As u can see Im still up at 230 am and will be all night im sure..AGAIN from the pain...and have been up for what seems like wks straight due to that pain. I am a freakin mess right now. I have lost 24 pounds in one month. Thank God for my 10 yr old or I wouldn't eat at all. Its too much energy, pain, and trouble....Once I get mobile though, I will get back on this site and be right there with you on board ALL THE WAY!
I have GOT to be able to walk first though....I can't handle anything more like this and wont lie, right now I am an emotional mess. I'm sorry. Just wanted you to know I haven't forgotten about you all. Just got these extra issues going on right now...I hope you understand.
But I do want in, to help make a difference, and I also have a girlfriend that's got a 6 inch scar on her neck from neck surgery where she was almost paralyzed from a car wreck...so she'd be a good person/candidate to bring along as well. She has all her records too and must walk ALL the time with a cane. She's younger than me and I'm 33. There are so many of us I just can't believe this is a tally happening in America... Awww Maria, that sucks!!! Wish we could post our personal info cause I would do what I can to help if I could. Ive put this fight on hold dealing with other issues myself but I go to the doctor this week so Im sure Ill be waiting for my RX to get filled. Currently I cant take them as persscribed bc I would run out so on good days I cut my dose. Like I said before, I don't do the 20 store per day to find my RX, I just stay with the one and just wait. My pharmacist will not hold Class 2 RX's so you have to take your RX in everyday to see if some came in and you have to time it right and beat the others because they are out within 5 hours of receiving shipments. I've spoted this little Pharmacy called MedCity Pharmacy is opening in Yulee. They have everything in the store but inventory and it's just been sitting there empty for at least 3 months .Nassau County is really bad about approving permits and stuff so that may the hold up. I was thinking I could get in as a new patient when they open and use them when my Pharmacy is out. There's not much info on the Company online but I think it's a franchise. Has anyone heard of MedCity or used them at a different location?
