Cannot Find A Pain Doctor Who Will Help

I moved to Houston about a year ago, and had increasing, crippling pain. Had an MRI done, it shows deteriorating discs, and they are also fusing together. I cannot find a doctor who will help me with pain meds. Tramadol is just not cutting it. I have no quality of life

I am very sorry about the problem that you're having. No one deserves to suffer in pain.

However, you may be creating some issues yourself, if you're contacting doctors and asking about them prescribing medications. They are taught to see that as drug seeking behavior, so they will usually not even let you get in the door for an appointment, or if you do make it that far, they will just refuse to prescribe anything.

Thus, you need to see a pain management specialist, make sure they get a full copy of your current medical records including the MRI and then go to the appointment and discuss your treatment options, without demanding they prescribe something or asking for a specific medication.

Do you have a PCP you see regularly that could refer you to someone?
