Cannot Find A Pharmacy To Fill Oxycodone 30mg Near Detroit, Mi...help Please? (Page 2) (Top voted first)
UpdatedMy husband received a script of Oxycodone 30 mg a few weeks ago from his surgeon and I cannot find a pharmacy to get them filled at. They mostly say they do not carry them or they are on back order. I have called everywhere. Any suggestions? Anyone know a pharmacy that carries it? Thanks in advance.
Walgreens mail pharmacy located in phoenix Arizona. Google it. They will charge it to ur insurance. I live in michigan and its only place I can get it filled. Most pharmacies don't have them or will only give to the customers they have had for awhile do to all the ppl buying scripts. I just moved from Maryland so I don't know any place well enough to get from them. This is easy and they always have the meds I am prescribed. I've never had a issue with them either!!
So you mail it to them how long does it take.
I live in Detroit and have a pharmacist who has told me he will only fill my prescription for 60 oxycodone pills rather than the 90 my doctor has prescribed. This pharmacy is a small independent one. Has anyone ran into this problem? I am going to switch to a larger pharmacy chain. I have been with this pharmacy for over 3 years. Has anyone heard of this b.s? Lately, he has even commented on my doctor's therapy decisions. Is this his call?
About a week

ecxuse what pharmacy was that who was willing to fill because i cant fibd one ?
IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN, DOWNTOWN GRISWOLD PHARMACY CARRIES THEM. WHETHER HE WILL FILL YOUR PRESCRIPTION IS ANOTHER STORY. YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST FOUR OTHER PRESCRIPTIONS TO BE CONSIDERED.
There is a mail service in Arizona. Takes a few days but I've used it a lot to get meds that pharmacies dont have. Its Walgreens mail service. Look up number and give them a call. They will give you the info and u can decide if you want to use it. I've never had a problem with them.
Yes, in fact. It was told to a friend of mine. Find another pharmacist. Sounds like that rinky dink Griswold place on Washington Boulevard in Detroit. And NO; its not his call, . He's a Pharmacist; not a doctor!. You might think of filing a complaint against him with the State Pharmacy Board. Sooner or later, we're going to have to take a stand against these pharmacists who make unfounded and unfair assessments about our doctors pain management skills; while lacking sufficient individual medical information to intelligently make an assessment about our needs and denying us our legally prescribed and needed medication.
Hi Jeff and I seen you were saying a Walgreens mail pharmacy works with the oxycodones 30 mg? How does this process work? And do you send them your script and they fill it via mail?
FYI, pharmacists are doctors. We have a doctorate degree in pharmacy and know more about the medications than medical doctors. Pharmacies will not fill a lot of oxycodone scripts because most of them (not all) are medically unnecessary. People pay off doctors just to write them oxycodone scripts to sell. So this is why a lot of scripts do not get filled. You can tell who needs them and who actually does not. Pharmacies are strictly regulated by the DEA and the board of pharmacy so there are limits on how many of these medications they can order.
Pharmacists are doctors of pharmacology not medical doctors, to say you know more about medications than a medical doctor is a gross misrepresentation. How many pharm d "doctors" are employed in r & d in the pharmaceutical industry. Pharmacists do not run trials on drugs, your about 4 years short in education and most doctors carry a pharmacy license you do not qualify for because you do not have the knowledge to administer the medication. You are a crossing guard, a safety net between the doctor and patient. You look out for your license and ensure the idea, the board and your supplier stay off your ass. You do not diagnose patients, nor do you have the ability. any pharmacist that questions a script it is only for the pharmacists protection. DO NOT CALL YOURSELF A DOCTOR!!! As far as finding oxycodone, if it is following a hospital procedure use the hospital pharmacy before you leave, in some hospitals they will honor a script from a doctor that retains privileges at that hospital. Keep all your scripts at one pharmacy and make sure the doctor writes the diagnosis codes on the script, or even ask that he call the pharmacy on your behalf. Secondly calling pharmacies is a dead end, the answer is always going to be no, they want to protect themselves from robbery so go in person. Choose pharmacies close to your doctors practice and give yourself a week to work on it. Pharmacies are under pressure to keep controlled substances no more than 20% of total business so the more scripts the better. When choosing insurance find out how well they pay on controlled substances AARP is horrid pharmacies avoid it because they make very little or lose money, total health pays well. For the record never ask a pharmacist to diagnose you, they are not educated enough and it is illegal on their part.
Miffed, hate to say this no pharmacy has to feel any perscription, the one your seeing probably knows something that is going on, and can't tell you about maybe an investigation going on!
It's because you all are calling the pharmacy. They are gonna tell you they don't have it so they don't get robbed. Just go and they will fill it
Oxycodone 40mg doesnt exists. Oxycontin 40 mg does. It is good to know the name of the medication that you are wanting or some Pharmacist will lie and say they dont have them in stock bc you asked for a medication that doesn't exist. And to the people that are having issues getting high dose opioid meds at local pharmacies, bc of the risk of carrying them they have really cut down on what and how much they will stock at any time. Also, you may be in alot of pain but dont go to the Pharmacy looking like you just got out of prison. Many pharmacist will lie and say they dont carry that med, strength or it's out of stock bc they think you might be scoping them out for a robbery or whatever. It's not right but it is the truth, especially Walgreens and CVS. Look for pharmacies that specialize in carrying hard to find narcotic pain meds. In Texas, there were 3 or 4 of them in the Dallas area alone. Texas Rx Pharmacy and Lone Star Pharmacy.
Lol at you. The people who are mostly involved in R&D within Pharmaceutical companies are not MDs or PharmDs. They are usually Doctors of Biochemistry or actual Pharmacists with advanced degrees in Chemistry or Biochemistry. So Pharmacists really do know more about medications. They get 4 years of training vs 1 or 2 classes taken by MDs. MDs and DOs in their first year or so have to constantly look up medications when they prescribe them to get the dose, strength available, frequency and so on. Over time they learn the this info and memorize it bc they have prescribed them so much. Alot of MDs will go to Pharmacy school first to have that background knowledge about medications bc they get so little training in medical school. Lastly, to the person on here giving out info about them weaning off of oxycodone and taking codeine with something else, please dont share your opinion about what medications to take and whatnot bc you absolutely have NO idea what you're talking about. Oxycontin has a generic call Oxycodone ER not Oxycodone. I dont know why it is so hard for people to differentiate the two. Oxycontin is extended release whereas Oxycodone is immediate release. Now there is Oxycodone ER, generic for Oxycontin. Thats why it is always best to say Oxycodone IR or ER, not just Oxycodone. But how people confuse Oxycodone with Oxycontin is beyond me.
Write the president, most people go through
This! Its unconstitutional to put people through this.these pharmacists need to no their place. They r not Doctors, an should no y they r their, as long as we r following the rules, they need to follow theirs.!an fill the script! Just because some street jurk messes around, we should not have to pay for it! We r honest people that have things wrong with us an that is our meds. So please put your pharmacists in check! Some r way out of line!
To bad pain meds get such a bad rap!
