Candid B Cream And Augmentin

I have had intense itching in my vaginal region for the past three days. It is becoming unbearable now. So my roommate gave me this candid b cream. I applied but it hasn't really shown any effect yet. The same problem happened to me about three four years back but when I applied candid b that time it worked. I'm just curious as to why hasn't it worked this time? It was my first application only, though it is still itching big time. Will it get better eventually? Also...I was on this prescription medicine - Augmentin. Is my vaginal infection a side effect of that medicine?

It may take more than one application for the cream to help, which is normal. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including spotting, skin irritation and redness.
