My new dermatologist has prescribed a one-week per month treatment over four months, applying Silkis 3 in the morning and Efudex 5% at bedtime. I have used Efudex before in one spot, with the expected itching and scabs. What happens when I apply these creams all over my face and scalp, which don't have many particular keratosis spots? My job involves working with the public. ## My dermatologist prescribed Efudex and Desonide last week! Beginning tonight... 7 days Efudex and Desonide am and Desonide pm, followed by Desonide twice a day for 3 days, then stop for 3 weeks. Repeat 4 times after that ! ## How did this protocol work for you? Do you react quickly. How soon did the redness go away? I’m using a Efudex and a synthetic D3 derivative gel called Calcipotriol. I mix them 50-...

used for morning sickness. Discontinued around 1973. Why? ## I was born in1967 my left foot was severely deformed. There were no bones in the foot just a ball of flesh. There is no muscle from the knee on down. The left side of my body is smaller than the right. I was told by my mother and grandmother that my afflictions were due to a drug mother took while pregnant.im trying to find out what drug caused this.i was told by several doctors that thalidomide is the culprit the timeline is off as i was born in1967. If you have information that can aid me in my quest i would be most grateful. ## Bendectin was given until 1983, and was discontinued due to legal complaints alleging that it caused congenital malformations. It should be noted, however, that later studies showed Bendectin to not...

cream 30 gm ## I've been prescribed fluoroplex for precancerous cells on my face. How bad are the temporary effects? How long do they ususally last? They recommended I use it all over my face, but the red areas are only on my cheek and hairline. Why should I use it all over? ## AK usually turns up as small benign rough areas. However within the skin there are many more precancerous cells. When you use the cream medications, the cells that cannot be seen are killed and brought to the surface. The first time I was treated for 2 rough areas, I ended up having about 50 lesions all over my face. You dr is recommending the right treatment, but it is difficult to go through, as you may end up with a large number of lesions and not be able to work or go outside. I just went through it, I am...

As a breast cancer patient, I would like information on Xeloda before administration. ## Xeloda (Capecitabine) is used in combination with other medications to treat breast cancer that has come back after treatment with other medications. It is also used alone to treat breast cancer that has not improved after treatment with other medications. Capecitabine is also used to treat colon or rectal cancer (cancer that begins in the large intestine) that has gotten worse or spread to other parts of the body. It is also used to prevent colon cancer from spreading in people who have had surgery to remove the tumor. Capecitabine is in a class of medications called antimetabolites. It works by stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells. Capecitabine comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It is u...

What is h-86 and how can you get it? ## Hi Ollie, H-86 is actually just another name for (Avemar) fermented wheat germ extract, that a company by the name of HSI (Health Sciences Institute) came up with to brand it differently. According to a number of related threads on here, that particular company is thought to be a scam and in my own honest opinion upon investigation of those claims, should be avoided. However, there are plenty other retailers/distributors of "Avemar" and "fermented wheat germ extract", that you can find by simply searching for those keywords online. American BioScience is one manufacturer of brand name Avemar/Avé Ultra who lists their products on Amazon. Hope this helps! ## Graviola Benefits* · 100% Pure, all-natural product · Contain...

My mother is a cancer survivor and currently taking Femara. She also takes Meprobamate, Simvastatin, Fluticasone Propionate, Plavix, Omeprazole, Coreg, Digoxin, Zestril, Zyrtec and Aleve. I am shocked at how many drugs being prescribed by several different doctors. How can I makes sense of all of this with so many doctors involved. Are there any reactions I should be concerned with. Thank you. ## I am also a cancer survivor. Your mother needs to get clean of all these meds unless she has high blood presure. She is doing more harm then good. She needs to detox, eat well and step aside from all these advertised drugs. ## No one should stop any prescribed medication, without their doctor's approval. Is Megestrol usually used for someone who can not gain weight? My husband has very little appetite and is very thin so he was prescribed Megestrol AC 40 mg. He does not have cancer or aids or anything like that. Thank you! ## Megestrol is a progesterone derivative and, when given in high doses, it can substantially increase appetite. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## Yes. My doc prescribed it to me because I told her I hardly ever had an appetite. I am 5' 11" and weighed 127. I’m in week 4 of a prescribed 5 week treatment on my chest with Efudex . My skin has all the worst symptoms described in blogs. I felt that my skin was too raw to handle the cream twice a day. I have decided to only apply Efudex once a day for the rest of the treatment (12 days). Will this be a problem for my outcome? ## It would be best to speak with your doctor, before making any changes to your usage regimen. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin burning, soreness, hyperpigmentation, photosensitivity, and scarring. Which ones are you experiencing? ## All of them. I had to sleep with a cold pack on the treated skin. Now 1 week after my last application (6 weeks total) Less pain and weeping but possibly weeks away to get back to normal. I have learned ...

I read that you should wash the site before application. Are you to wash your hair everyday, twice a day if you apply Fluorouracil 2 x per day? Is it ok to use your regular shampoo. I understand that use of Fluorouracil cream can spread to areas that may not already show signs of precancerous spots. Has anyone noticed this to happen? How far has it spread, entire scalp? Please share any experience you have had with treating scalp.

CANCER PATIENT 150MG PO ## Do you mean Tarceva? ## This is from the Tarceva Web Site: Q. How does Tarceva work? A. Tarceva is a targeted treatment. It is designed to block tumor cell growth by targeting a protein called HER1/EGFR. This protein, which is present on the surface of some cancer cells and some normal cells, is important for cell growth in NSCLC. Exactly how Tarceva works is not yet fully understood; however, clinical trial results have proven that, in some patients, Tarceva can be effective in both improving patients' survival and slowing or stopping the growth of cancer. ## List most other cancer treatments, Tarceva may cause some side effects, such as lung problems, nausea, weight changes, dry eyes, unusual eyelash growth, and clotting problems. I have been using Efudex on my fore arms and the back of my hands for two weeks. Three weeks will be the total time of application. I put the cream on at night and try to sleep. I leave it on overnight and wash it off carefully about noon the next day. How soon after application can I use soap and water on the treated areas? Does it help to wash the Efudex off after an hour? I have been leaving it on for hours. When sleeping should i wear cotton gloves and a long sleeved t shirt? I have done that and now have stopped but I am concerned about accidently getting the cream in my eyes during the night. Thanks for any help with these questions. When I lower my arms, I have a lot of pain, especially when I lower them quickly. Is this normal?

My wound is on my forearm & is about a 1 1/2” square. The skin is eroded and indented. Was told to use Neosphorin, keep covered & change bandages twice daily. Does this sound like good advice? ## This procedure is often advised for some types of wounds, but it depends on the severity, cause of the wound, and etc. Neosporin has been known to cause some skin reddening, rash, and itching, as side effects, in some people that use it. What has your doctor advised you to do?

I am a new Efudix user (week 3) with solar keratosis patches on my face, 8 of them. I am coping OK though as expected, not feeling pretty at this stage! I've read and re-read patient info. but don't see anything about very swollen and sore lips as being a possible side effect of Efudix cream. My AK patches are down each side of my face, nowhere near my lips. My worst patch is starting to ulcerate/crust, so another fortnight to go at least. I can cope with the discomfort, all except for my lips - any ideas? Hats off to all you guys for your encouragement! ## Have you consulted your doctor? Used Efudex on back of my hand a year ago with little reaction. Had to use again & this time hand turned into Krakatoa! Scabs & weeping spread beyond immediate application site but understand this can happen. However, also have tiny pin head size blisters among & around the crusting with accompanying itching which I haven’t noted in other experiences on here & wonder if it’s an allergic reaction or part of the “process” & I just need to find something to ease the itching. Any advice really welcome as this time of use is becoming quite scarey ## While those can be normal side effects, it is always best to have your doctor check things out to be sure.
