The danger here is actually due to the fact that they tend to increase the effects of each other, which could be very dangerous and may cause a fatal overdose, thus they should not be taken together, or close together, unless your doctor specifically tells you to do so.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
