Can You Recommend A Tonic Of Vitamins

Can you please advise me? My mother is 83 years old, she is taking Warfarin for a few years, she is extremely careful with this medication, she also suffers from Arthritis on her knee and wrists. Can you please advise me of a painkiller that she could take? Also I think she could benefit of taking a vitamin or a tonic. Any advise would be appreciated.

My dad has been on a blood thinner for many years and one of his doctors is wondering why his other doctor has not taken him off of the blood thinner by now. My dad has a lot of health issues that he has never had before. I did research and found out that the blood thinners cause vitamin D and calcium deficiency. Which causes spasms joint pain confusion fatigue. Please go a natural way to help your mom. My dad is getting OFF of this med that is killing our parents and older family members. Look for a good nutritionist!!!!!
glen - Who on earth are you asking to advise you about your mom's health needs? You're asking medical questions, some about serious medical issues. If she's taking Warfarin (a blood thinner), I'm assuming she has or has had problems with blood clots. Her arthritis might be helped by OTC anti-inflammatories but she may be helped far more by prescription medications in this category (I know I was) that she can only get from a genuine physician. As for your question about painkillers, the source/type/cause of her pain and so many other factors make a big difference in terms of what she should be taking for it. And without knowing her medical history, her allergies/sensitivities to medications, the state of her general health and many other facts about her, it's not really possible to know whether or not she needs "a vitamin or tonic." And even if she does, there are hundreds of vitamins and tonics out there--which one(s) are you talking about? Make an appointment with her primary doctor, get a check-up, tell them about any specific problems she has and ask THEM these questions. (Of course, if she's mentally competent, she can make the appointment and talk to the doc herself! Just make sure she does it!) Please don't entrust your mom's health to advice from people you don't even know, who don't know your mom or her health situation, and whose competence or qualifications to answer these questions is completely unknown. For all you know, you'd be getting and taking advice from a chef, a plumber, a car salesman! Nothing at all wrong with those professions but they don't qualify someone to answer the questions you've asked! You would also do well to keep in mind that, when communicating on the internet, anyone can CLAIM they're a doctor, a physician's assistant, a nurse practitioner, etc. If your mother doesn't have a doctor--she should, given her age and health problems. Do the work necessary to take care of your mother WELL!
