Can You Have Alcohol While Taking Bactrimds And Cephalexin500mg

Going to a party this weekend I wanted to know if this would be ok.I would only be drinking maybe 3 beers at most.

Based on my research, the trimethoprim in Bactrim DS does list a drug interaction with alcohol, so I wouldn't recommend mixing the two if you can try your best to be mindful of it.

The interaction itself states that you should talk to your doctor before using trimethoprim together with ethanol (alcohol). Further precautions note to not drink alcohol while you are taking trimethoprim as you may have unpleasant side effects such as:
Fast heartbeats, warmth or redness under your skin, tingly feeling, nausea, and/or vomiting. Because of that, the manufacturer also recommends checking your food and medicine labels to be sure these products do not contain any alcohol as well.
