Can You Drink Beer 8 Hours Of Taking Losartan?

I normally drink 3 - 4 beers daily. Once or twice a week I would chill and not drink. So, after taking Losartan and 8 hours later when I get home, can I drink Bud Light Beer. I don't do hard liquor at all, just light beer. My blood pressure went up to 182/? (can' remember bottom #) and was taken Metropol and now been changed to Losartan. I have never done drugs but since I also have a degenerating disc in my neck I take ibuprofen for the pain daily. I have vicodin for night time only if I need it. I have only taken 2 from the prescription cause I don't want to be dependent on it.

You really need to consult with your doctor on this. Alcohol can be cardiotoxic and, if you imbibe too much, it can also elevate blood pressure, so it may not be safe for you to drink, while your blood pressure is that high.

The FDA classifies Losartan as an ARB that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, increased urination and hypotension.

My blood pressure was 160/80. I do drink beer to relax. My husband had triple bypass. I have been stressd. Financialy stressed.

If your doctor approves, you could have one or two, but usually no more than 2 servings.
