Can You Cut Amoxicillin 875 In Half?

Can I cut the big pink Amoxicillin 875 mg pill in half so that I can swallow it? It's too big for me.

Unfortunately I am unable to give you a direct answer with just knowing that it is an amoxicillin 875. Some brands of this medication are coated for extended release so that your body has time to properly absorb the active ingredients before your stomach acid from destroys them. So while it may be acceptable with some brands of the medication, it may not be with others. It is always better to play it safe and ask your doctor or pharmacy about the flexibility of your medications consumption.

If you are struggling to administer your medication I suggest you discuss this with your doctor. There are options that you and your doctor can agree upon to ensure you are able to take your medication, such as taking two smaller pills that would equal one larger one or perhaps going to a liquid/gel capsule instead.
