It would depend on several factors, such as how much of each was involved, the person's overall health, prior liver damage if any and etc.

So, theoretically, it is possible, but most likely wouldn't happen to a normal, healthy person who has just taken a prescribed dose of the medication and has one drink… but it could still make them very ill.

It is best to avoid combining alcohol with any prescription medication, as a general rule and don't drink, unless your doctor says that it is safe for you to have a couple.

Another risk could be if you're taking this medication to treat seizures, because alcohol could cause them.

I am taking 300mg of Gabpentin twice a day
I have been using it for about 5 months. Well two months ago I got hives on both arms. They are not red but dry looking unless I scratch them. I don't know whether they came from the medicine or the sun exposure while in Florida on vacation. I didn't noticed them until in Florida after get back from a 2 hour boat ride in the direct sunlight. So I took a hot shower that same night and noticed the hot water would have my arms on fire and in pain and burning. So do I need to be concern that the hives are coming from the medicine and contact my doctor or not. If it was the medicine would the hives showed up sooner than 3 months later? I am concern about drinking alcohol too.

Can a person that drinks beer take 100 mg of gabapentin and 100 mg of zoloff, this person has a IED (a explosive disorder,) I heard that gabapentin and zoloff calms them down

Unless you're abusing the gabapentin and drinking through you're ***s, probably not. You have a higher chance dying on the drive to the pharmacy. That being said drinking too much water can kill you. Moderation is key. Your body is extremely resilient and can metabolize much higher doses of chemicals than you probably know. If you're psyching yourself out telling everyone at the party you feel like you're dying, you're too coherent to be overdosing. If you had been given gabapentin unknowingly, you wouldn't even tell the difference. It's 90% 1/2 mental.

Annddd this is a lie. I wasnt even a drinker. One shot of whiskey and my doctor prescribed dosage of gabapentin sent me into convulsions. Booze and an anti convulsant. Ironic huh? Everyone's body is different. You dont have to abuse medication for bad reactions or even overdoses.

Hi. I have been taking gabapentin 600mg x3 and tramadol 100mg x2 for about six months. I drank on occasions (weekends). Since I began these drugs I can't DRINK any alcohol!! I couldn't figure out what was happening for about 2 months. I just felt awful the next day. I really do miss my cocktails!!!

I've been drinking a 1/2 gallon of vodka every two days for 2 months. When I stop hours I go to withdraw. I've in AA for years. No insurance and no detox available at this time. State funding used up.would a 300 mg capsule help or harm me taken once a day.
