Doubtful but it could make your friend very sick. The acetaminophen in the hydrocodone is what will be the problem at this point. It can cause lover problems and even liver failure if enough is taken. If you haven't already, please help your friend seek medical help.

I struggle thru ever second of every hour of ever day pain management HAS NOT!!!!! been enough!!!! it draws a SERIOUS amount of emotional as well as physical drain on a person!!!! I wish EVERY day I could just die!!! until you find yourself in an intolerable situation! and find an appropriate way to live thru it! don't dare judge anothers situation!

HollyG. Suicide is not always selfish. Was Robin Williams Selfish? He had so many gifts that he shared with so many people. I don't see him as selfish. I think pain severity, physical or psychological, is inversely related to sympathy or empathy for others; Moreover, people tend to rationalize their actions. They may convince themselves that their actually doing right by their loved ones by sparing them from the disruptive impact and emotional turmoil associated with being a caretaker. There's no sparing them from the grieving process they must go through either way. The sooner they do it the sooner they can get on with life.
Besides those who are actually loved by somebody Holly, consider those who may be old, alone, fatally ill, in pain, impoverished, and incapable of sustaining themselves any longer. She may suffer multiple fatal illnesses: AIDS, HEP-C Emphysema, Peripheral Neuropathy all at once. There is a quality of life issue here. Even if she has one person, say a sister, or a brother, or maybe she has both but all they do is argue with each other about who's gonna take responsibility and who's in the better position to help, so neither one dose anything. These half hearted siblings pose the occasional obligatory query concerning her plight, but concern ends if it requires making a sacrifice such as offering a cot when there is a real risk of homeless. In fact, after expressing fear of being sick and homelessness and confiding to her brother (who has a 100K job and a $1M Long Island home) that suicide may be the only other solution (if no housing solution presents itself) even providing details about how she plans to do it, her brother endorsed the plan calling it the product of clear rational thinking (as opposed to depression or other mental illness). So I ask you HollyG, do you really think she is being selfish?
Is it better to opt for a slow painful natural death complicated by extreme poverty and most likely homelessness to delay these siblings grief? (Note: when I say extreme poverty SSI = $710/month for everything. That's it, no food stamps in Fl. for single adult males, 7 year waiting list for housing assistance and possibly indefinite for non-Latin adult males w/ no children). Some people, in such tenuous positions are probably just better off dead. Given these circumstances, is asking if 25 hydrocodone will kill you really all that ridiculous. Given the all the botched executions of late, I think these are very sensible questions. After all, a failed suicide attempt is the worst of all possible outcomes. Ending up with failed organs, in a coma, and worse off then you started is a fate worse then death.

Was it painful when you took that many pills? I don't want to live anymore either. The emotional pain I suffer is greater than the physical pain from two collapsed hips and I can tell you that pain is very high to live with everyday.

Depression n suicide isn't an act of attention seeking in all cases. That's usually in young teens. When a grown up suffers with mental issues it's usually pretty serious. Surround yourself around positive ppl. And find at least one person u can open up to with every thought u have. And of course, speak by faith to God n believe He is hearing u. Even when u can't c him He's there. I think the only person weak on this stream is the ass talking about just do it already comments. You need help the most Cuz ur here trying to fix someone that's hurt by saying die?

I hope you never experience severe depression. I have been struggling with it my whole life. Nobody wants to be depressed or suicidal they are in terrible pain and can't think of another way out. Probably have no support network and could use some f##ing empathy. Some of you people are disgusting and heartless.

I don't know if 25 would be lethal or not. If you drank a bottle of booze and tied a bag over your head it might be - maybe you'd pass out and suffocate.
The amazing thing is how hard it is for people who want to kill themselves to find out what dose of any drug would do it. So, because this information is unavailable, those who REALLY want to kill themselves resort to other methods that are known to be deadly: firearms, jumping in front of trains, jumping off buildings, cliffs, bridges, head-on-collisions with 18 wheelers, etc, etc, etc. All of those are hideous, violent, and awful ways to die - all each of the people who resorts to those methods wanted was a peaceful way to die but the morons running our society make those methods unavailable. An entire nation of morons and imbeciles - it's very disappointing.
Best way I've heard of is the "suicide bag" method on Wikipedia. Using nitrogen, it is painless, no gagging because air is 78% nitrogen so the person's body doesn't recognize that anything is wrong. BUT, ever try to get some nitrogen? Ain't easy to get enough.

Everyone has a different ability to metabolize drugs in their liver. While some people may be able to handle more... for other exceeding that maximum limit by even a small amount can cause liver damage. You should never take that kind of risk with your body or suggest that anyone else may be safe in doing so.

Guys...it's not the hydrocodone, or Lortab, Vicodin, or whatever you want to call it. It's the acetaminophen that's the dirty bastard that will do it to you. Messed up an opportunity about a month ago myself. Have a new idea for the next time....which is going to have to be the last. Tired of messing with this and tired of living for someone else. Don't know how to live for myself anymore.
