Can Smoking Cigarettes Really Effect How Morphine Works?

Does smoking cigarettes block your pain receptors and not allow morphine to absorb into the body properly and releave pain and if so why??And if so which is harder for the body to withdraw from? Thanks for any help you can give me

I believe the answer to this question is all relative to each individual based on their own unique set of circumstances and health. However I will say that my father used to smoke cigarettes for over 40 years before quitting cold turkey - (he had medical cannabis as a crutch during this time). But from what I witnessed living with him I'd say he probably went through about two weeks of mild cold symptoms before feeling normal. On the other hand I know people who have only been smoking for a fraction of that time (say 5-10 years) and had a much harder time coping mentally and physically when they quit. With this in mind it probably all comes down to things like: your will power, having a valid reason why you want to quit, accepting a change in lifestyle, being held accountable and also not depriving yourself of other good things that life has to offer so as to help keep dopamine levels up.

I wish I had an answer to your other questions pertaining to morphine, but I'll leave that open for someone else to chime in with their personal experience.
