Can Not Locate Opana Er Or Generic Version
UpdatedI have been taking the generic version of Opana er and the short active but at one location. Well I have now lost my medical insurance so I have to pay cash. I can not afford that but was checking out some of these discount cards and they have listed some of the normal pharmacy like CVS, Walgreen etc., but none off them will carry it. How can I find help to get them without paying such a high price.

You can actually call 211 and ask for information on prescription help. They can direct you with some companies that actually send the medicine to you or pay the pharmacy. It varies with every med. I actually was approved for this for Opana but Doc changed my med. Good Luck. That stuff is EXPENSIVE!!
Hi Janet,
Sorry to hear about your situation. I noticed that you mentioned having checked pharmacies like CVS, Walgreens, "etc"; but have you also tried using a discount card at Rite Aid, Costco, or any small mom & pop pharmacies in your area as well? Just a suggestion..
The Rx savings card that MedsChat offers reportedly works at over 60,000 pharmacies across the US... and I'm wondering if it's possible that certain cards may work more often than others or at different locations depending on who/where you get it from?
Another thing to consider looking into for saving money are patient assistance programs. Some manufacturers will cover the cost of most if not all of your prescription if you meet certain income qualifications (perhaps similar to what Rob described). However, your doctor or pharmacist would be able to provide you with the appropriate applications to fill out if you wanted to give it a try.
I hope this helps!
Thank you. I go to the pain clinic on Monday and see what if anything they can do to help.
Plus there is a website that you can look up any med and find the cheapest pharmacy to get it. You just click on whichever one you want and it pulls up a coupon or rx coverage number. Just Google how do find the cheapest medicine. It'll pull up the website and even give you an app if you want to download it. I know the website but I don't think we are allowed to post stuff like that? ...Just check out the ones you get by googling how to find the cheapest med or even the name Opana. Good Luck <3
Rob,
I did that it gave me a list of pharmacies but they either don't or won't carry the med. The one place that I've been getting it at the discount for some reason is so much smaller.
Beside my doctor would you know if there is a site that can help you change to a different med that is cheaper but just as effective?
They are cheap, I can pay $2 with insurance or pay $105 cash. That's for genetic opana 10mg IR. That's for #140 pills
