Can Eating High Fat Meals While Taking Contrave Cause A Seizure?

I had Dunkin donuts english muffin sandwich with burger king's small hashbrowns and a small sweet tea (dunkin donuts). Contrave says no high fat meals. So is it safe to take my one pill now? Or should I give it an hour, eat a Banana then take it? I definitely don't want to have a seizure! I'm freaking out.

It's actually hard to say, but yes, there is a risk of them occurring. The higher the dose of Bupropion, the greater the risk of experiencing a seizure.. a high amount of fat may cause your body to retain higher amounts of Bupropion, which in turn, could potentially cause you to experience a seizure, as reported under the FDA provided potential side effects.

While it most likely contains sugar, the sweet tea most likely did not contain any fat, unless they did something very odd to it. However, the other food items that you ate are usually laden with fat. Burger King has a list of nutritional information available for their food items, it might be a good idea to look them over, so you can be more careful in the future.

But, I also have good news for you, if you've been taking this medication consistently, at the same dosage, for awhile, then it does remain in your body, at a constant level, so if your meal was going to cause a seizure, in conjunction with it, it is most likely that you'd already have experienced one, or more, of them. Once you've taken a medication consistently for a awhile, some of it remains in your body, not all is processed out, before the next dose.

Although, I am not a doctor, or pharmacist, so it is always best to double check such information, to be sure.

I haven't experienced any side effects. I actually stopped eating Dunkin' Donuts in fear of having a seizure. I also don't eat Burger King for breakfast anymore because I'm afraid of a seizure. I don't even drink sweet tea. I would have a smoothie and eat some Ritz crackers to take my medication but I usually take the medication around the same time every day. I try to avoid fast food although I did have three tenders from Popeyes last night but I definitely avoid food with a lot of grief and fear of having any type of seizure I don't want any seizure at all.

Hello I had a one time seizure 5 years ago and have been on anti-seizure medicine since. There was never any reason detected for the seizure other than stress. With the risk of Seizures with Contrave, should the anti seizure medicine help reduce that risk or should I look for another weight loss option?
