Yes, this is an antibiotic that can be used to treat various types of infections, as deemed appropriate by your doctor or dentist.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

However, it will not alleviate the pain, nor will it correct the underlying problem that has caused the dental infection.
