Friend taking roxicodone with valium, tizanidine and neurontin. Could he be in danger?

It's possible to overdose on any medication and combinations can be especially dangerous.

However, doctors will usually take that under careful consideration to help treat the person as safely as possible. They may make special adjustments to the dosage and should be monitoring the patient with regular appointments.

Roxicodone and Valium, Xanax, etc. (benzodiazepines) are especially dangerous when taken together. They both can cause severe drowsiness and cause the respiratory center in the brain to shut down if taken in large doses together. Hopefully this person is taking what has been prescribed by his dr and is not dosing himself with and whenever he wants to. It doesn't take much to overdose on a combination of these two types of drugs..narcotics and benzos. If he is taking the prescribed dosage as advised by his dr then it should be safe. If not..then it's just asking for trouble. It's not worth the risk. Be very careful and follow your dr's instructions for these drugs to the "T".
