well i got a seizue and i have never had any kind of illneses and i went to see a neurologist but i have to wait a month too see my results i got these medications prescribed fenitoina sodica, ampicilina, diclofenaco.. i was informed that it coudl be that i i have been eating alot of pork meat since i was wyoug and that there is a worm that is developed in the brain and that could of caused the seizure but i would really like to have more inf .. on this illness i am currently living in tijuana ,mx and the medication is from mexico..

I dont know about the RLS portion but the seizure comment that was posted really got my attention. I have Lupus and was told for years that it was the form that attacks the brain stem and causes seizures. I had been put on the tramadol shortly before they started and have been on and off of it for almost 10 years. Last week I had taken 2 doses of it and within 1 hr of the 2nd dose I had another seizure. Of course, I have also had Drs attribute it (as I said) to the Lupus, to the lights in the stores and to reactions in my noggin when other meds, such as some antibiotics, are used in conjuction with my seizure meds. I am not sure about the side effects of the tramadol but would definitly send out a 'heads up' for anyone else using the drug.

There is a warning that patients with seizures tend to have them occur if they take too much Tramadol of their dose is too high.

Anyone with a history of seizures would be at risk for a seizure if taking tramadol. I don't think a person necessarily needs to be taking it near the max dosage (generally 8 tabs a day). I have never had a seizure, but sometimes I notice my foot twitching after I've taken tramadol. If you are having seizure activity, see your physician.

I take Mirapex for RLS and it works very well. ( The Generic starts with "Prax,.." , can't remember rest. ) I take Tramadol for Plantar Fasciitis and the Mirapex at bedtime for the RLS. Good luck.

Tramadol worked very well for me for restless legs (or what I think is RLS) as well as fibromyalgia. However, the effectiveness of the med varies widely with manufacturers and just recently my trusted Mylan gave me an unexpected scary reaction. So I say it's worth a try, but you may have to try different manufacturers (of generic anyway) to find one that works for you.

My elder brother took this,but unfortunately Tramadol if taken for about more than for five days, it also creates some problem. Withdrawl symptoms vary person to person.And My brother still suffering from restless legs.So pls consult thoroughly or take irregularly.

I've been on Tramadol for over 15yrs. My leg will jump at times like I was zapped with a stun gun. I had two seizures that I know of.I take 8 trams 3 times a day when I have them.I have friends who have had seizures after taking only 4 trams. Today I take 1Gabapentin everytime I take any Tramadol. Gabapentin was marketed as the brand name Neuroton,an anti seizure drug. The medical community found that it has some medicinal value as a pain reliever...they're not expensive so you might want to think about taking one next time you load up on the Trams. BE SAFE!
