Is prednisone used to relieve topical body rashes and itching.on elderly people? if so what side effects?.

Based on my research,

Prednisone is in a class of drugs called "Corticosteroids." Prednisone prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

Prednisone can be used to treat many different conditions such as allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, or breathing disorders. I have heard of people using this medication for rashes and itching, but I'm not sure if age is a factor.

Some of the side effects include but are not limited to: insomnia, sever joint pain, leg pain/cramping, and more.
