Can Percocet And Flexeril Be Taken Together? (Page 2)

I take Percocet and Flexeril and was told by the doctor to wait a couple of hours before I take one or the other. What are the possible side effects, positive and negative?
Helping people in WHAT professional capacity? I'm a MD psychiatrist (with six sub-specialitirs)mad a PhD in Psychopharmacology/ I've published or contributed to articles published in first-tier publications. I was fortunate enough to be "bequeathed" (quotations because my mentor has not shuffled off the Mortals Coil) a practice that brings in 100K in a bad year and I have a full-time position as Director of Psychiatric Training, Residencies and Fellowships a major hospital. It's tiring, but I also to volunteer my services and terrorize the OB-GYN and IM Residents into volunteering their time [if they want to see a kick-ass later of recommendation with my name on the bottom.] I always have believe that "top whom much is given, much is expected." Your posts suggest Disordered Thinking. They don't give degrees for "stupid" at Yale or at NYU. Don't hand me that "voice recognition crap". If it doesn't work, don't use it.

I've been on Trazadone for twenty years.I'm on a lower dose now which is 200 mgs.I take Percocet only when I need it with my Trazadone. However with my experience I do not take Percocet with Trazadone every night.I usually take clonazepam .05mg with Trazadone at night to sleep.I never take all three together. They are all central nervous system depressants.I was taking 500 mg of Trazadone alone and fell twice the next morning in the shower I passed out and was nauseous.Everyone handles meds differently, just be careful.
WTF? How many DR. FEELGOODS are writing for this crap. And what are the indications for truly irrational Exactly what does "much more mean?" I could not see a medical professional remaining functional on all these depressant drugs, even with tolerance, I think. I'm a shrink with a PhD in Pharmacology and your pupils alone would tell me you were soaked with opioids. In 25 years of practice, I've never had any of my scripts questioned (except for accuracy and with new patients and that's a RPh's JOB; it's an inquiry or verification, not an investigation) in 25 years. If I wrote for those drugs join those quantities for ONE patient, I might skate the first month, but by the second script, I'd get a visit from the DEA and my state Controlled Substance investigators. I can't even i gain making up Dxs that justify this crap. You are in no position to provide ANY patient care. If you're an RN, tell me what the generic name for Ultram is, why it's an OPIOID not an OPIATE and what properties does it have in common with PROZAC?
Excellent response. ...just saying!
So how is the percoset today going for you? Has it turned into pure oxycodone 30mg's & a couple oxycotins er's? I only ask this because so very many people end up in the boat I'm writing about, though their injuries are more severe but you haven't told us of your injuries in any detail. I fell from near three stories & I landed on my back & neck, I cannot recall much but the fall & all else is blank until I awoke in the ER ( ICU ) dept. & had over what seemed like a dozen dr's around me running around & they had already cut all my clothes off, it was very frightening & I honestly along with many others am surprised I'm still even alive, ( I often wish I had of passed no I'm not suicidal it's just the injuries I was left with are beyond repAir & my life will never be the same ) I only know of the fall in details due to the other people who were there and around me to witness the fall, it would have killed the average person but being at the time I was around 175-180 and was in great shape & was use to severe slams & falls, and the like due to sports & my love for martial arts, to this day I'm now very depressed at where I'm at & I honestly feel that I could just pass at times, I had no insurance & that was a few years ago so needless to say my life savings ( I was only 36 at the time of the fall ) is all used up & the doctors have all my monies them & the pharmacists & drug companies. Sorry to ramble it's just that I wonder how you are today & if you still on the meds.?
I refuse to take the medications that the dr's want me on & trust me there are days I wish I was on harder meds., but a basic 15mg oxycodone 3x's daily with flexeril twice daily & lots of gabapentin is all I will take & I hate to take those, I use to be like a athletic machine, I cycled over 30-40+ miles 3-4 times a week, surfed & traveled to amazing destinations & was an avid Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt, along with my desire & love to sky dive, snorkel depths to the most extreme, but now I'm approaching 40 yrs old & I'm broke, have no insurance, have no monies, cannot work or get on Medicare or Medicaid (f*** florida this state is for people that come here (wealthy) to die & they don't care of those in need of help, I could go on all day but I just want to explain that most start on these medications & are often up to amazing amounts of drugs, I know of people that are only 10% hurt like myself & they are on all kinds of pain meds & I know they don't need them, I'm just venting & I apologize but in this country where everyone in my family has fought for in each war known to America & I too have given my life for, we are only treated like s*** & they care not for us anymore once they are done with us. I have no family just lost my last living uncle & my brother as well, so though all this is a very sad story I still try & maintain a good & stable piece of mind, I often wonder why god has out me in this path & I'm at the point of my back where it's beginning to degenerate badly & I've lost one knee ( blown out ) due to my back not being able to hold me up & I still refuse the hard meds.,
I'm on pain meds for what a person with a broken arm should be on, I'm blessed as I do have a family doctor that's an amazing man he's also a specialist in many other areas of medicine but he has been my best of both a doctor & friend & wants so very much to help me even more & to see me in not so much pain but understands & I believe respects that I don't accept or take the meds I should truly be on, in this state they treat you like a junkie even on the Lil meds I take & it's often very hard to fill my meds due to all the street junkies & the black market of so much pills, it's sad & makes me angry so again with what others recommend I do suggest as well to finding a good pharmacy & sticking with them, & once they get to know you & understand your situation you have another positive source & my pharmacist is a great guy & he too has had severe back issues & surgeries, they respect that I don't take more meds than I do, s*** I have enough issue than to be strung out on all kinds of meds., but trust me I wish on days like now that I had at least a bottle of back up medications that would take care of this intense pain & issues like my arm is currently in major pain & the spasms are starting so I'm going to go, just want to say stay off the heavy narcotics & too all you street dope heads I wish you to spend just one day in mine & many others shoes, your making it very hard on us to get the needed help & respect we need to be taken care of, any ideas from anyone would be of great help as my well is dry & If it were not for a few folks I consider family I would have no help & even they are beginning to not be able to help any longer, so I have no idea where ill be in a couple months, I wish society had more understanding for those in cases like mine & even worse to be able to choose to live a life of pain & suffering or to be able to choose to go out peacefully & not have to live in constant pain, but we have more compassion for our dogs & cats in this time we live in & these animals are often put to rest so they don't have to suffer anymore.
I just wish that man will someday see this for his fellow brothers & sisters as we are born & also we must die, I don't wish to die but I cannot get any help from a industry where many are abusing the help they get. I know a lady my age that gets medical help, money, housed, etc.. & she doesn't even need it, she is constantly on vacations & cruises & it MAKES ME VERY MAD & sick, but it's the world we live in & I know I must somehow keep my faith & stand strong. If I didn't have & often plea to keep this mentality I would likely be in a nut house, I just wish I could get some help from the industry I paid into for so many years. I have worked since a little boy & I have paid into the companies that cannot even help me, being my age & a man is not to ones advantage. I think we're in the times that are near the end for man & I'm not getting religious on anyone, were all treated like sheep from the governments & the world revolves around big business, lies, greed & the foolish nature of man, I hope that I don't end up loosing my ability to walk & pray for all that need the help & speak for those that do but cannot write of it, TODAY I SAY A PRAYER FOR MANKIND & wish that man will turn from it's ways & that we will see & believe in miracles once again & that compassion for ones fellow man will over ride all this evil I see in man today, sorry to ramble, just one of those days I'm in much pain & yet no help or any meds to help me once your on the little bit of meds I'm on, they may help for an hour or two if your lucky, best of wishes to all & to all you pill heads just please get off the legit pain meds, & get a life & trust me one of pain & suffering to where you do not need these meds is not where you want to be, or six feet under because you wanted to try & feel high off a few pills, I wish you all the best, (damn I sound & feel like a 80 year old man, god please never let me loose faith!) GOOD Luck to you all! I would say god bless but I know that seems to bother & upset so many anymore these days, it's like a bad dream, but it's reality. Peace
Hey guys, I have a herniated disc pinching a nerve and was prescribed flexirel and oxycodene to be taken together by the orthopedic surgeon. I've had no side effects but I can now walk, sit and sleep which I couldn't do before. However the cocktail is for a short period of time. When it comes to your health always speak to your doctor because they have your records and know your medical history.
listen everybody knows you should check with your physician, but it's everybody's mind to tell himself doctors overcautious people don't want to believe people are on this forum to find out what you can or can not really do people not bullies telling the truth. It is like I said; it is best to go to online and put in both medications to see if there's any interaction. if not take them both. I know you can take both. done it for too many years, but you should always check a second source when listening to things on the internet. People need to understand they're on this forum to get real experiences, so don't criticize people for giving their opinion. that is what a forum is for, not for ignorant people to criticize other's opinions. give your opinion and don't start arguments on a forum. it's a waste of time to read it. answering it will hurt you or it will not. then shut up. you have a right to your opinion. that's why people go on forums to gather a lot of opinions, then they make their own respective forum. just give your opinion. it tells you on this forum if you would read it before you click agree. it tells you do not do what you were doing. they catch you. you will not get your message to this is not just my opinion. it is forums of opinions and why would somebody want to bully somebody that is an ignorant comment
Good for you putting bullies.................excellent write up.
I do not think Chris should be advising how to take pain meds......................this is not correct. I agree with Verwon............check with your prescribing dr. if you are seriously concerned.
black pain if she wanted a doctor's opinion she would have asked for Dr not peoples opinions on the form says the purpose in the form understand to get real life experiences the RN is dead on the money I have patience for 14 years with drawing them he cannot but he cannot be just rightvery true accurate advice from the RN your tolerance to opiates absolutely unbelievable do what you can take I Presley withdrawn people over 14 years yes I'm using voice recognition I don't have time to talk to you I have time to help didn't your mother tell you if you don't have anything nice to say don't speak I'm not going to piss with you on this form cuz I will make you look like a foolnow to the rest of you if you need help I have dedicated my life to over 14 years to help people like you I enjoy it ask away
Lol absolutely no side effects. The side effects you describe are less than the one on the side effects of ibuprofen they got for me. Tell you that too many reasons more than any. He's probably trying to protect you. Feel the least amount of a for you that's spelt wrong it is voice recognition lol euphoria out of it anyway I advise them together you are on sucks get on back 60 milligrams today that's a nerve block pain it is a maltese truck see you on that start with good also mehsucks get on back 60 milligrams today that's a nerve block pain it is a maltese truck see you on that start with good also soma you may feel better but its not doing better keep some at your life but to answer your question you'll be just fine.
I take Percocet, klonapin (sp), ambien, prevastatin, synthroid, clonazapam,2blood pressure meds and flexeril as needed...have for .years. I'm 66 and doing my part building a home. I'm hurting right now but I've worked 2&3 jobs my my whole life. I want to live until I die, if you get my drift. No, the RN is not a druggie. She is working for a living, not living off society. Do what it takes, muscle through the pain thats left after you take your prescribed meds. Dont judge others till you've walked or worked in their shoes. If you cut a few years of your life you will never know. I know a lot more old drunks than I do old doctors.
I had to go to the e r i have sciatica, i have been takeing xyanx 1st bedtime. For 29 yrs. No problem. The er doc. Gave me hydrodone. 5 mg. And flexeril 20 mg. And naproxen 500 mg, can i take these meds all at once, and why would the er dic give me flexaeril., hydrodone, and also naproxen, all at once ! Seriously. Please , professionals, reply. Thank uou.
Dr jenn I agree with , I'm no doctor but I am pretty smart when it comes to medication only because I bother to read about what was prescribed to me and learn what they are and so on. I'm 36 years old and learned a lot simply by educating myself and mixing drugs can be very dangerous. Everyone's body tolerates med different and depends on their medical history and age. Elderly people for example don't do well on some meds for multiply reason, you should know your body what conditions you have, and always ask a pharmacist or doctor concerning meds.
I'm curious... How are you able to keep up with a nursing job on those medications? Even with tolerance don't they make it difficult for you to concentrate and keep up with the pace of your work? I used to need these medications also but not even half of what you listed and was unable to keep working at a similar type job. I certainly tried but kept getting let go. How do you do it?
what can happen if i drink 2 lite beers and feel high?
Yes I did, LAST YEAR when I posted this. It was midnight when I posted my question and was in a lot of pain; was hoping someone could offer some advice. So relaaaaaaax.
Why are you consulting a website? You have no idea who you are getting advice from! ASK YOUR DOCTOR! HE is the one who prescribed the meds!
Hello Dr. Jenn, my names is Basille. I like how you broke down your thorough explanation of meds and how they metabolize differently in a person's body. However, the reason I am reaching out to you is because I have some serious medical conditions myself and would like to speak to you and have a more detailed discussion with you pertaining to my chronic pain. I am only 23 yrs old from Philadelphia, and have been suffering from on going pain for over 5 yrs now. I would appreciate if you have the time to reach back with me and I look forward to it, Thank you and I appreciate it. Good day
Please remember that medications like Flexeril and Percocet, or any other CNS depressant can be deadly. Central Nervous System Depressants are a serious matter. Mixing more than two at a time can cause major breathing issues as well. If you must take more than one CNS depressant, please follow the directions that your doctor ordered. Also, if you have more than one doctor make sure that all your doctors know how many CNS depressants you are taking. Good luck with all that you do and if you ever feel like you are dependent on these medications, ask for help.
