Can Miralax Alter Your Stool And B.m. Schedule?

I took Miralax daily for 7 days after a bad bout of constipation and stopped after it made my stools too soft. It's been 5 days since I took it and my stools are still very irregular- they're sticky and long, and far too soft. I normally have very hard stools. I've been eating healthy and plenty but I haven't gone much since Friday morning, and I normally go each morning. I'm bloated and gassy and I don't know if the Miralax is to blame or if it's something else?

Hello, Lana! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem you're having.

Did your doctor tell you to take it for 7 days?

And what kinds of foods are you eating? If you've suddenly changed your diet to try to eat healthier, since you were having this problem, that could actually be creating part of the current problem. Your stool is much dependent on what you eat and your fluid intake.

Have you discussed this issue with your doctor?

How is your fiber intake?
