Can Methadone Cause Water Retention?

Recently I've been experiencing water retention in my right leg. Is this from taking methadone? I've had several tests done. They say it's lymphademia but no blood clots were found. Everything seems to be okay yet I'm retaining water in my right leg. It doesn't make any sense. Can you please tell me if this could be from the methadone or additives from my thyroid medicine or any other medicines that you know of that would cause this?

NIH.gov lists "swelling in your face or hands" as an allergic reaction to methadone and levothyroxine, but they don't mention any specific details about swelling in the legs.

What's the name of the thyroid medication you take? I investigated levothyroxine in particular simply because I think it's one of the most popular thyroid meds on the market.

Could it be dietary related?

I was leaning towards that, but it's also likely to be related to either of the medications you take (or their additives) if this is something that only recently occurred.

Please post back if you find out any more information or insight into possible causes.
