Can I Use A Suprep Kit While I'm Taking Enalapril?

I have to get a colonoscopy done on Tuesday and am supposed to start a Suprep kit tomorrow. Am I allowed to take my blood pressure medication, Enalapril 10mg 2x/day while doing this kit?

Also, I have to have a general anaesthetic for the procedure, will that interact with my enalaprila s well?

I see that this was post awhile ago, but for anyone looking in the future...

You should always check with your doctor or pharmacist about using any type of bowel cleanser, stool softener, or constipation remedy, if you are on life sustaining medications that you take regularly. Some of them can cause them to leave your digestive system too fast, so they do not have a chance to work, which could cause health problems.

Therefore, it may be necessary to space them apart by several hours, or to alter the dosage of the relevant medications.

As to the anesthetic, that would really depend on which one they are using and such information wasn't provided. However, it is always best to make certain that all the doctors and nurses involved know what medications you are taking, before the procedure occurs.

Are there any comments or questions?
