Can you take Methadone while being prescribed Adderall?

Does Anyone Know what can take away the HOT FLAASHES from not having
Methadone in your system.I am trying to stop taking it ,aand it is very uncomfortable.

Thats exactly how i feel except im on 40 mgs of methadone and and 80 mgs of adderall a day and adderall helps me detox off the methadone if needed but if I take them at the same time I feel higher than a kite..

PPl, I think taking a CNS with your narcotics is a viable option for some. I take 200mg of done which I split, usually. 30-70mg vyvance and 60-10mg dextroamphetamine in a thirty day period. Along with that I use about 1gm of methamphetamine a week. This would be too much for most, but I'm 60 yr old. Been a poly drug user for fifty of those. I was seriously injured in the BOP. Was misdiagnosed for 8yrs. My right side(upper)is wasting away. C1 thru C7 plus T1 & 2 all shot. Our med. system is a joke. Sorry...the bottom line is CNS's & Narcotics do work well together and allow me to function. Lots of info about the combo around going back to the 50's. I believe you need sups. to help your body produce...Don't count on anyone but yourself. Learn. The WEB is a wonder. Use it./luck/don
ps. always keep some benzo's around in case...use as little as possible. Think Val's and Clonies are the most ap. because of muscle relaxing prop.'s. BP med goes along in sup. cat.\Clonidine .

I am currently detoxing from methadone, and I find that adderall takes away the pain and depression and other various side effects from the methadone withdraw. I know adderall is addictive, but could not possibly be as addictive as opioids. I'm currently on 25 mg of methadone. I take it at about 9 AM, and around 5 or 6 I start to get hot flashes and feel depressed and have pain everywhere. At this point I take anywhere from 15 to 30 mg of adderall and about 30 min later I feel like myself again, and actually have motivation to clean and work. So I too believe that adderall effects the same receptors as opioids, just not quite so much. Hope this info helps someone.

I suppose I am the Guru of 'sorts'. That being said, I have survived the gamut of all extremes of opiates and amphet's. I'm currently on 120 mgs of Methadone (a blessing from the Lord!) and at the same time also on 30 mgs of Adderal which I usually taken up to 120 mg daily for a full blown 'battery charge'. That being said as soon as hr 22 > are upon me I am getting very irritable so I take 40 to 60 mg Methadone. To my horror, absolutely no effect is gained from this which is leading me to believe that Methadone and Adderall are competing for the same receptor sights. I have to end up either taking close to 100 mgs Methadone at once to try and relax or some Xanax if I can get my hands on some. If nothing relieves my hype, I get to bounce of the walls and go nutz! There has to be a connection between Adderal / Methadone receptors

Hi Danny,

Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Methadone and Adderall. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate.

On a side note, there are interactions found between certain foods or drinks and both of your medications:

Regarding Methadone, it states that co-administration with grapefruit juice may increase the plasma concentrations of the drug. (So you'll want to try and avoid drinking this when your taking methadone).

Regarding Adderall, it states to generally avoid alcohol, as it may potentiate the cardiovascular effects of amphetamines (although the exact mechanism of interaction is unknown).
